Chris Daughtry's Stepdaughter's Past Wasn't All Tragedy: Mother, Nature Lover

Former “American Idol” singer Chris Daughtry and his family are still grieving over the death of his daughter, Hannah Price.
The 25-year-old was found dead in her home after reportedly suffering “injuries”; however, the Tennessee District Attorney is not labeling Price’s death as a homicide.
Although Price’s daughter was reportedly shot in the face trying to “save a friend” during an encounter with gang members in 2018, her life wasn’t all tragedy. Price was a mother, nature lover, and all-around kind human being.

On February 21, Price took a sweet snap of her and her daughter using a Snapchat filter to place purple butterflies and freckles on their cheeks. “Little bean is almost a year old!” she wrote.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the picture. “Such a cutie like her mama,” one fan wrote.
“She’s such a beauty just like you,” another wrote. “I’m loving your hair!”
“Both of you are so beautiful!!” another shared. “Happy early Birthday to Lily!”

On March 31, Price posted another photo of her daughter, who has a curious expression on her face as she looks into the camera.
“I had baby fever, I wanted a baby girl, and it didn’t make sense at the time how or why but it happened anyways and it all worked out,” Price wrote in the caption.
After thanking God for the people in her life, she credited her own mother for showing her “what true love is” and teaching her that true love “requires a lot of sacrifice.”
She added, “I’m so blessed to have my mother, who has taught me so much & has been by my side through thick and thin” before saying that “my mother is the reason for so many blessings in my life.”
She concluded the post by saying, “I am also grateful for the two beautiful souls, and very close family friends, who chose to take on my daughter as their own and who are taking the absolute best care of her.”

On September 7, 2020, Price revealed that she went mushroom hunting for her birthday, and treated her Instagram followers to a slideshow of several varieties of mushrooms that she found on her scavenging adventures.
A few weeks earlier, she had posted a picture of an enormous squash that she had retrieved from her vegetable garden. “We will be living off squash for a while,” she joked. “Watching my babies grow.”
Price was often fond of taking pictures of nature and sharing them on her Instagram page. On June 3, 2021, she posted a photo of a bird soaring through the sky. In the caption, she wrote, “the force of habit keeps you stuck and unaware of potentially healthier and happier choices at hand... every moment gives you the option to open a different door and take a different course whether it’s in your thoughts behaviors, or major life decisions.”
Although her friends and family continue to mourn her loss, Price should be remembered not for how she died, but for how she lived.
