The father-of-two said Murray laughed at how many times he will need to answer a question about his title and wished he could watch him answer each one.

Rudd noted that his co-star's wish was happening "right before our very eyes." When asked about his wife's response, he said she also laughed at the news.

The "Ant-Man" lead said his wife was as shocked as he was. He also explained that he did not take the compliments of friends, including Jennifer Aniston, to heart.

Another Marvel personality, Jeremy Renner, congratulated Rudd with a hilarious photo of them hugging on a fake poster for a movie called "50-year-old Virgins."

Renner shined the spotlight on himself, writing congrats "from your friend, who looks tremendous, in the dark," crediting his handsomeness in low light.

Seth Rogen congratulated his "The 40-year-old Virgin" co-star by tweeting, "No arguments here."

Rudd's "This is 40" co-star Judd Apatow was unsure how to feel about the news. She tweeted, "I'm having mixed emotions about this."

The 52-year-old told PEOPLE he was aware that people would question his title. "This is not false humility. So many people should get this before me," he explained.

Nevertheless, the "Wanderlust" star decided to "lean into it hard" and own it, but he expects all his friends to "destroy" him as that is what friends do.

As 2010's SMA titleholder, Ryan Reynolds has some pointers for Rudd, such as not wasting the title by being shy like many former titleholders did.

On November 15, The Blast reported that Reynolds told The Today Show hosts that he was excited about Rudd's title, but "he's going to play it bashful, humble."

The "Free Guy" actor said he would not have done the same if he had known, adding that SMA title holders have to seize the opportunity.

Reynolds joked that if he got it now, his family would need to go on without him, and he would roam the world with a dog-eared copy of his People Magazine cover.

The "Deadpool" lead said he would sow his wild oats across towns like a nude, magical gardener. "It would be amazing."
