Kelsea Ballerini is going through the same deal as millions of others right now. The 26-year-old country singer is in quarantine on account of the novel coronavirus – COVID-19 has already seen the “homecoming queen?” singer update her Instagram from her bed and share her McDonald’s nuggets. The blonde has also been making headlines for releasing her third studio album amid the global pandemic now responsible for over 35,000 lives worldwide.
Kelsea’s Sunday night update sent Instagram a reminder that dark times can still include some sunshine – and it might even do you some good.
Kelsea’s photo was a simple selfie. The Tennessee native was seen lying on the roof of her vehicle and backed by blue skies and treetops. A makeup-free face and the stunner’s cute-as-a-button smile greeted fans as Kelsea relaxed and caught some rays – a slate blue tank top with hints of a black bra underneath formed the wardrobe as the rising sensation shot the camera a direct gaze – this was a happy shot.
A caption offered more.
“took the Jeep out to find some sunshine, laid on the roof and soaked it up. // if you can SAFELY get outside…it really helps. ☀️,” Kelsea wrote.
Kelsea’s 2 million followers seem to have spotted the post – it had clocked a sweet 60,000+ likes overnight, with comments also pouring in.
“You’re so precious! Stay safe sweetheart!???,” one fan wrote.
“Thank you for being a bright light through this,” another said.
Others, meanwhile, seemed to be dishing out suggestions for the singer herself.
“you know what else you can do safely?? do a q&a on twitter ??,” one user wrote.
Celebrity likes also came in from 22-year-old reality star Savannah Chrisley and Miley Cyrus’ older sister Brandi.
Kelsea made headlines over the past few days for sharing both her vulnerability at this difficult time and her fun side. A video of the singer rolling around her bed and snacking on cookie dough proved popular, and her Sunday images showed everything from a pair of McDonald’s socks being worn as Kelsea enjoyed wine in bed, right through to fans seeing her McNuggets –an emotional face shot at the end showed less-happy moments.
Of course, it isn’t just selfies Kelsea is offering right now. Her newly-released album is providing comfort for fans.
Kelsea’s March 20-released album has been garnering attention. The 13-track record was dubbed an “ideal” quarantine companion by Rolling Stone, with the magazine even profiling the girl behind the beats.
“I’m not going to lie, I had a few days of just being flat disappointed and pacing my floors trying to find a way around something there is no way around. However, the more I zoom out, the more I realize that this is a time where people want and need music more than ever,” Kelsea said.
