Kelsea Ballerini is doing exactly what everyone else is – staying home and going through COVID-19 one calorie at a time. The 26-year-old country singer updated her Instagram over the weekend with a reminder of what she’s been up to amid the coronavirus pandemic – while the end of last week brought the “homecoming queen” singer rolling around her bed and snacking on cookie dough with a spoon, the menu has changed.
Kelsea has been indulging in McDonald’s and a little alcohol. Her latest post also reminded her 2 million Instagram followers what a killer pair of pins she’s got.
Kelsea’s post was a photo-heavy one – keep scrolling for a peek at her McDonald’s order. The blonde opened her update with a simple snapshot of herself sitting in her bed and flaunting her super-slim and long legs as she posed 100% makeup-free and wearing a dark hoodie.
Kelsea appeared to have opted either for (not quite visible) shorts or a no-pants look as she smiled with her blonde hair in a bun, also seen rocking white socks rising up her calves and bearing the McDonald’s logo and a burger pattern. A glass of red wine seemed to be helping everything.
Kelsea’s post appeared to feature various moments showing how she’s spending her quarantine. A black-and-white photo showed the star playing a game, a musical moment with a guitar was included, and fans swiping far enough then saw a little McD – an open carton from the fast-food giant showed the contents mostly gone with only one McNugget left.
Sweet n’ sour and Buffalo sauce were seen near a fuller and second container of the popular chicken snack, although things were less cheerful in the final – and somewhat moving – photo of the singer appearing stressed and near tears.
Kelsea had taken to her caption with a Nashville, Tennessee geo-tag, also sharing that life in quarantine has its ups and downs.
“Me in quarantine- a saga and an emotional journey. ? (but really, please be smart and kind to the world by STAYING HOME!!! it’s so, so important. ?),” she wrote.
While 77,000+ likes were left overnight, fans did appear to have singled-out the final, tearful photo.
“That 6th photo hit hard,” one comment read.
“Same,” a fan replied.
Many, however, remarked on the fast-food.
“THE CHICKEN NUGGETS ITSELF ARE A WHOLE FREAKING MOOD,” one fan wrote.
Kelsea has just dropped her third studio album, and it comes at a tricky time. When Rolling Stone profiled the star over the “Kelsea” record, it called the release the “ideal” quarantine companion, with Kelsea herself speaking out on the timing.
“I’m not going to lie, I had a few days of just being flat disappointed and pacing my floors trying to find a way around something there is no way around. However, the more I zoom out, the more I realize that this is a time where people want and need music more than ever,” she said.
Kelsea’s post also brought in celebrity likes. Reese Witherspoon, Savannah Chrisley, and Britney Spears’ little sister Jamie Lynn all left likes, as did Miley Cyrus’ 32-year-old sister Brandi.
