Mayim Bialik Has Some GREAT News For ‘Blossom’ Fans!

“The Big Bang Theory” star Mayim Bialik first got her start on the NBC sitcom “Blossom.” After the initial pilot aired on July 5, 1990, the series officially premiered on January 3, 1991 before concluding on May 22, 1995.

The sitcom featured Bialik as the title character, Blossom Russo, a highly rebellious and spunky teenager who was the youngest of three children. She lived with her divorced father, Nick (Ted Wasso), her eldest brother and recovering addict Tony (Michael Stoyanov), and her middle brother Joey (Joey Lawrence). The show also featured her klutzy best friend, Six (Jenna von Oÿ).

Bialik recently revealed on Instagram that she has some “fun news” for fans of the show!

Bialik shared a fun throwback photo of her wearing a black hat adorned with a large sunflower and a white blouse decorated with colorfully patterned stars. In the caption, she wrote, “Whoa. This is some big fun news….a Blossom cast reunion is coming! Are you excited as I am?!”

She followed the caption with an emoji of a pink flower, an emoji of a cat, and the hashtags #Blossom, #Blossomcast, and #Blossomcastreunion. The post had over 16,000 likes within the first half-hour of posting.

Actor Cheyenne Jackson, also stars in her Fox sitcom “Call Me Kat,” was one of the first to comment, saying “Kat’s outta the bag.”

“In the exact words of Joey: ‘Wow!’” another fan wrote alongside a starry-eyed emoji.

“Yes! Keep us updated!” another fan wrote.

“Before I read the caption I was gonna say ‘that hat is giving me some Major Blossom vibes!’” another joked.

Although the part-time “Jeopardy!” host didn’t reveal any other details about the reunion, she teased her fans with a chance to win a personalized message from her and her partner Jonathan Cohen on her podcast, “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown.”

On Sunday night, Bialik addressed fans following her podcast to let them know that she had a special giveaway to “spread light and love” this holiday season.

“Hi everyone!” she wrote in the post. “In the spirit of Hanukkah and Thanksgiving coming up, we wanted to connect with you all about what we think are the most special elements of these holidays — the aspects of sharing light, gratitude, and hope. We are going to send 5 winners personalized video messages from me (and/or Jonathan) to someone who is very special to you and who has brought light and hope into your life!”

To enter the giveaway, all fans have to do is follow @BialikBreakdown on Instagram and then make an Instagram Story with the hashtag #MessagesOfHope. Bialik would like her fans to “tell us about someone who’s brought light and hope into your life that would really like a personalized message from me.”

The giveaway ends Friday, November 19th at “sundown.” The five lucky winners will be announced on Saturday night in an Instagram Live on the Bialik Breakdown page.
