The star of Fox’s “Call Me Kat” sitcom Mayim Bialik is looking for her fans to spread some love this holiday season.
On Sunday night, Bialik teased a week-long competition that asks for her followers to spread some love and light with the people who inspire them.
In a video posted to Instagram, she said, “With the holidays coming up, mainly Thanksgiving and Hannukah coming up soon, we wanted to do a fun giveaway.”
She and her boyfriend, Jonathan Cohen, will provide five lucky winners with a personalized message from either herself, Cohen, or both of them – winner’s choice.

Bialik, 45, says that the purpose of this giveaway is to “really highlight the spirit of the holiday season, which we see as spreading light, and hope, and gratitude.”
She added, “So, this is what we’re asking people to do. Follow @BialikBreakdown on Instagram – that’s the first thing you have to do – and we’d like you to make an Instagram Story. Tell us about someone who’s brought light and hope into your life that would really like a personalized message from me.”
Cohen added, “Or from me. Or the both of us.” The contestant will also have to make sure to include the hashtag #MessagesOfHope in addition to following Bialik’s account.
The deadline for the giveaway is November 19th at “sundown.”
According to Bialik, “We’re going to announce the winners Saturday night, November 20th, on an Instagram live, on the Bialik Breakdown page. We can’t wait to hear from you. We can’t wait to hear who has inspired you and who has given you hope.”

Fan of Bialik’s podcast “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown” are already familiar with Cohen. He is not only her podcast co-host, but according to the “Breakdown” website, he is also the podcast’s executive producer. His bio says that he is a “writer, poet, producer, father, and futurist who imagines and designs new applications of technology.”
The pair reportedly met at a toddler’s birthday party roughly a decade ago and formed a strong friendship due to their shared interest in mental health, which is a common theme explored on Bialik’s breakdown.
“To be honest, 2020 was a beast of a year, and my partner Jonathan [Cohen] and I have a shared passion for mental illness and mental illness education,” Bialik told Forbes last February. “The idea [of the podcast is] to explore all the aspects of mental health that many of us are not told about.”
In a recent episode of her podcast, Bialik brought on Nickelodeon “Kenan and Kel” star Kel Mitchell, who talked about the difficulties of growing up a child star and his struggle to find sobriety. As he told Bialik, Mitchell learned that there are “no mistakes in life, just lessons.”
Fans are thankful for Bialik’s podcast. As one fan said, “‘Celebrities are people too.’ That is the exact reason I am obsessed & thankful for this Podcast. It’s because of this I realized I was suffering from severe anxiety & depression & now I understand that I’m more ‘normal’ than I thought. Thank you to all that are involved in making this Podcast happen.”
