Why Doesn't Blake Lively Drink Alcohol? Here's The Reason!

Blake Lively first gained recognition for her role in the popular CW drama "Gossip Girl." The series was based on the books of the same title, and she played the character of Serena van der Woodsen for its six seasons, which aired from 2007 to 2012.

Lively has appeared in several other movies since then, including "Green Lantern," in 2010, in which she co-starred with Ryan Reynolds. After this appearance, the two started dating and then got married in 2012.

The actress certainly has a tight schedule, having to parent their three little kids and make frequent appearances in other films and TV shows. Still, Lively recently amazed fans by diving into a new venture, Betty Buzz, a non-alcoholic mixer company.

The launch of the non-alcoholic range of drinks only highlighted Lively's stance on alcohol. She has been very vocal about her abstinence from all forms of alcohol, which generated curiosity amongst her fans. So why doesn't the actress drink alcohol? The actress noted earlier in a 2018 interview with USA Today that she doesn't drink, even if her family and friends do. She boasted about her good mixing skills in the interview, irrespective of her abstinence from alcoholic beverages.

"I think I'm an amazing mixologist, at this point." She noted, "I am the in-house mixologist in my family … My friends come over." She also spoke about her husband's gin company, Aviation Gin, and said, "he's just genuinely obsessed with gin."

She mentioned that her family and friends would usually be worried when she'd start to mix drinks because they were aware that "she doesn't drink" and then said, "I love to muddle berries, and shake things up with ice. I love the idea of making a drink … It's just the taste of alcohol."

She made it clear that the taste put her off alcohol but clearly, she put her mixing talents to good use in her non-alcoholic drink line. This made it possible for her fans, whether they are drinkers or not, to experience Lively's talents.

Lively took to social media in September 2021 to inform her fans about the launch of Betty Buzz. She noted that the non-alcoholic mixer company featured different sparkling mixers with natural flavors and fruit juices, free of artificial colors and sweeteners.

Also, as seen on the Betty Buzz website, the mixers feature a "refreshing taste" and have fewer calories than ordinary mixers. The flavors include Sparkling Lemon Lime, Tonic Water, Sparkling Grapefruit, Meyer Lemon Club Soda, and Ginger Beer, and the contents could be mixed with alcohol or taken alone.

Lively recently expressed gratitude over the positive reception of Betty Buzz, as some celebrities made posts to support the 34-year-old's new project on their social media pages. She spoke about it in an interview with People Magazine.

She said, "I'm so happy to have something [like this], because I thought I'd be an outlier." She then appreciated her supporters and said, "It's a mixer, but I'm the one person who doesn't drink, and I have a mixer. But it's been neat to see how many people have come out and embraced it."

When Reynolds heavily invested in Aviation Gin in 2018, the brand was already established. However, his popularity and strategic advertisements helped with propelling the company to an even better place.

Aviation Gin is currently one of the highly-rated celebrity gin companies; however, Vanity Fair reported that in the summer of 2020, Reynolds decided to sell his stakes in the company.

He is still a very big fan of Aviation Gin even if he no longer has any major financial business with the brand and heavily publicizes the gin brand on different occasions on his social media pages.

Reynolds has likely tested out his wife's brand-new mixers, possibly with Aviation gin, to create their unique cocktails, as he hinted in reply to her trolling the brand on social media.

Reynolds and Lively are parents to three daughters, James, Inez, and Betty, their youngest child, whose name was an inspiration for the name of Lively's new brand.

The celebrity couple definitely knows how to mess around on social media. The duo often trolls each other with funny posts ranging from Valentine's Day posts to making jokes about their birthdays.

It was no surprise when Lively perfectly trolled Aviation Gin in a post promoting Betty Buzz. The actress posted a photo on Twitter and captioned it, "Well, at least it's not a celebrity alcohol? Meet @BettyBuzz mixers,"

As expected, Reynolds got the joke, and he replied, "Luckily they pair deliciously with @AviationGin. Coincidence? Conspiracy? Hard to say." Fans have commented severally on how hilarious the couple is with one another.
