What Became Of 'Disturbia' And 'Fired Up!' Star Sarah Roemer?

The name Sarah Roemer hasn't been very popular in the entertainment industry recently and would likely not be familiar to the ears of the younger generation. However, the American actress and model had lead roles in a few movies in the late 2000s that received critical acclaim.

One of her biggest roles was in the movie "Disturbia." She also starred in several other movies, including "Asylum" in 2008, "Fired Up!" in 2009, "Hachi: A Dog's Tale," "Waking Madison," and "The Con Artist" in 2010, as well as "The Event" and "Chosen," two hit television series.

Even though her period in the spotlight wasn't long, it opened her up to several opportunities. One of which was meeting her husband, Chad Micheal Murray, who co-starred on "Chosen" in 2014. The couple got married six years ago and are still together.

Their marriage, however, instigated some controversy, as one of Murray's ex-girlfriends made some cruel comments about him and their relationship. Murray and Roemer worked through the negative light, and many fans believed they were happy together.

In an interview with News Corp Australia in 2007, Roemer revealed that her acting and modeling career was a case of sheer luck. She said, "When I was 15, before school in the morning, I was at a 7-11 drinking coffee and the owner of my modeling agency came up to me. And that's how that happened."

She also explained that the same thing happened for her acting career and said, "And then I was in LA two years ago modeling and I was at a coffee shop and my manager came up to me and that's how I started acting."

She shared that it wasn't the first time she was approached, but she felt comfortable because a woman was scouting her.

Her budding career influenced her relocation from San Diego to Los Angeles to model for publications like Cosmopolitan, GQ, and Interview. Her acting debut came in the 2006 indie movie "Wristcutters: A Love Story," a year before her big break in "Disturbia" as Shia LaBeouf's romantic interest.

With a $20 million budget and over $118 million made, the movie was a box office hit and applauded many fans and critics. Roemer and LaBeouf also received a nomination for the MTV Movie Awards for Best Kiss in 2008.

While the "Fired Up!" star had a decent run in the entertainment industry with about $2 million in net worth, her interests seem to have shifted from acting.

There was barely any news on her appearance in films for a while until she had a minor role in the 2021 American action/thriller movie "Survive the Game."

The film was directed by James Cullen Bressack, and Roemer's husband, Murray, was cast as Eric while she played a character named Hannah. Many of their fans were happy to see the couple work in another movie together.

Despite her years of absence from the big screens, Roemer seems satisfied with her personal projects and marriage. She recently shared a happy photo of her and Murray on Instagram, with the caption "pinkies up for 6 awesome years of marriage to this guy."

For Murray, the third time was a charm as he finally found "the one" in Roemer. The couple tied the knot discreetly in early 2015 and welcomed their first child, a son, shortly after.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Murray admitted that being a father changed many things for him. "Having a family just changes your perspective on everything. I mean it's a world-changer. For me, it was the greatest thing that's ever happened to me," he explained.

He spoke more about all the things he wants to do for this son, saying, "and I think you're always walking around with the mentality that you want to make sure that they're proud, and you want to represent them well and just be a great leader."

Their second child, a daughter, was born in 2017. Murray and Roemer are very open about their love for their kids and each other, and their fans can see it from their posts on social media.

Murray's ex-wife, Sophia Bush, whom he was married to from 2005 to 2006, was his co-star on "One Tree Hill," a hit television series. However, their marriage didn't last long, and the two separated just a couple of months after their wedding.

As Bush later mentioned in an interview with Andy Cohen, the pair had underlying issues, and she never wanted to marry Murray. According to E! Online, Bush criticized his attitude by saying, "Because how do you let everybody down?"

The actress reportedly tried to take back the comments, but the damage had already been done. In reply to Bush, Murray called her claims "ludicrous" and submitted that he had moved on long ago.
