While the themes about the treatment of exotic animals weigh heavily throughout Netflix’s new smash-hit, “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness,” many stars and celebrities are still snuggling up with cuddly tiger cubs and posting photos to The Gram, including WWE Superstar, The Undertaker.
Undertaker, aka Mark William Calaway, recently stopped by Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters in Florida with his wife Michelle McCool. The two met up with one of the main tiger trainers featured in “Tiger King,” Bhagavan “Doc” Antle.
Undertaker and his wife spent the day hanging with a bunch of Doc Antle’s special cats, and even had a pool session with a couple of them. Along with bottle feeding and lots of cuddling, the WWE Superstars filmed some videos for Antle about preservation and saving big cats.
“The tiger stands as the last sentinel of the forest. If we lose the tiger, we will lose a piece of ourselves but if we could save the tiger we could save the world. For the tiger to survive it must have clean clear skies, pristine lakes and rivers plentiful prey animals, lush forests, wide open spaces and people who care. If we save the tiger we can save the world,” the wrestling royalty announced while petting a pair of tigers.
After the experience, McCool shared lots of photos of her and Undertaker’s day with Doc Antle and raved about the work he’s doing with the exotic animals.
“Best…..day….EVER!!!!! @myrtlebeachsafari & @docantle at @myrtlebeachsafaritours have the most incredible experience ever! It’s a bucket list item that I’d suggest to the world! @rarespeciesfund is doing amazing work to help save these tigers! Blessed to have learned more about these incredible creatures!” she wrote on Instagram.
McCool added that she had an “unforgettable time,” and that:
“Real talk….in the midst of a lot of chaos, being in nature at @myrtlebeachsafari with these (& many other beauties) all weekend, was pure bliss! Thanks again.”
Doc Antle is one of the main characters showcased in Netflix’s “Tiger King,” as he is a huge name in the world of exotic pets, and also served as somewhat of a mentor to the eccentric Joe Exotic.
In the docu-series, it is revealed that Antle is a doctor of “mysical science,” and that he lives among his exotic animals with his son and multiple female partners. One former employee/girlfriend is interviews and describes Antle’s situation as somewhat of a “cult,” but he adamantly shoots down those accusations and stands by his belief that everything he does is for the benefit of the animals he loves.
Meanwhile, Joe Exotic is currently serving a 22-year sentence after being convicted of participating in murder-for-hire, as well as a slew of federal wildlife violations.
The biggest slam for Exotic, however, is that he cannot watch his own docu-series on Netflix, as much of the show reveals Exotic’s neverending quest for stardom. Through his Facebook page, the convicted criminal has been updating fans about his fight for freedom.
“Now that the Netflix series is out, I can not watch it but if you see know what Little Bladman, his wife and the people who set me up is all about, please share this with a law firm that may help me get out of here and Justice where it belongs. People have gotten away with Murder in this industry for far to long,” Exotic wrote.
