We sympathize with everyone who lost a loved one at Astroworld a few days ago and hope that those injured make a speedy recovery. Thankfully, a couple who fans have been wondering about their safety recently revealed that they are safe, as they ‘made it out alive.’
The loss of lives and injuries in Travis Scott‘s Astroworld festival is one of the most dreadful things that have happened this year.
A festival that was supposed to be a fun, exciting experience for everyone who attended turned into a horror show.
Scott’s fans were not the only people who attended this event; MTV’s “The Challenge” Kam Williams and Leroy Garrett were in attendance also.
Following the show’s turnout, the couple went on social media to quell the fans’ worries about their safety.
What Caused The Deaths And Injuries In Astroworld
Scott’s Astroworld festival was held on November 5 in NRG park, and the issue of overcrowding started almost as soon as the show started. The show kicked off at 9 pm, and things started to get really scary.
The crowd pressed in to see Scott when he came up, and this led to a massive crowd surge that crushed and squeezed the people in the crowd. Kam.
According to CNN, the officials were informed of the crowd surges 30 minutes into the show, and reports of injuries started trooping in, but Scott didn’t stop his performance until 10:10 pm. The attendees described the place as so packed they couldn’t breathe, and people were being trampled on, which caused eight confirmed deaths and about 300 injured people.
Scott’s response to the whole situation was, “I’m honestly just devastated. We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them through this tough time.”
The event is currently being investigated by the Houston Police Department, and a victim of the stampede who gained injuries already has a lawsuit in the works.
Kam Williams And Leroy Garrett Attended The Show
Kam Williams and Leroy Garrett also made appearances at the show. They attended the Astroworld festival together and even posted it on their Instagram stories. “The Challenge: Double Agents” finalists posted videos with their fans while at the festival.
Garrett also shared videos of the couple on T-shirts during the daytime on their way to the concert.
He then showed a clip of them dancing, clearly enjoying the concert at night before the incident. The Instagram post was captioned “Headed to Astroworld.”
After the event, Williams updated her fans on her and Garrett’s safe return. She wrote, “Thank you all for checking up on us after last night’s Astroworld concert. There were at least eight deaths and we made it out safe with everyone we went with. Keeping those that didn’t make it and those who are injured in our prayers.”
Will Williams And Garrett Come Back To “The Challenge”!
After meeting on MTV’s “The Challenge,” the couple has been in a serious relationship for the past year.
They last appeared on season 36 of the show “The Challenge: Double Agents,” and much hasn’t been heard from them concerning it since then. Although, Garret hinted at retiring from the show.

In the last season he was in, he told some castmates that he would officially be retiring after that season.
Although Williams hasn’t made any indication of leaving the show, she’s currently on a break, and her return date is unknown. The couple lives in Houston together, and while Garrett is working on his business with the barbershop, Williams is chasing opportunities outside reality television.

“There are a lot of unanswered questions,” The mayor said. “Over the next several days, several weeks could be even longer; we’ll take an in-depth look at everything that took place, why it took place, what steps we can do moving forward to mitigate an incident of this kind from taking place.”
