The apple didn't fall far from the tree as the "Thot Shit" artist's mother was a rapper known professionally as "Holly-Wood." Thomas died in 2019 after losing a longtime war against brain cancer.

The Woman Who Inspired The "Savage" Crooner To Become A Graduate

The second inspirational figure in the "Body" songstress's life was her late great-grandmother, fondly referred to as "big momma."

Before she died two weeks after the rapper's mother, the matriarch motivated the 26-year-old to pursue a degree rather than live off the profits of her music.

Thanks to big momma's advice, the sensational artist will be graduating with a B.A. in health administration from Texas Southern University in December.

In her tribute to the late women, the "Beautiful Mistakes" crooner emphasized the ideals these icons passed on. The entertainer said:

"Because of them, I never felt unworthy of my success and my womanhood. Because of them, I've learned to be competitive with myself and that other women don't need to lose for me to win."
