After years of feuding and diss tracks, it seems Drake and Kanye "Ye" West are ready to put the past behind them, with Kanye making the first move.
In a shocking Instagram video shared on producer J. Prince's Instagram, Ye reached out to Drake asking for a truce. In the clip taken at the Rothko Chapel, Ye stood next to Prince and read a statement from his phone directed at Drake. The "Praise God" crooner said:
I’m making this video to address the ongoing back and forth between myself and Drake. Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it’s time to put it to rest.
Kanye continued, inviting Drake to join him on stage on December 7 in Los Angeles as a special guest as they perform their two albums which Ye described as "the two biggest albums of the year."
The Atlanta rapper explained that the main aim of the joint performance was to campaign for the release of the incarcerated gang leader, Larry Hoover. Hoover currently serves six life sentences for murder, extortion, money laundering, conspiracy, and gang affiliations.
Ye concluded his plea, writing, "I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause, but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together."
J. Prince Touches On Kanye West And Drake's Beef
In the accompanying caption of the clip, Prince, who was responsible for getting Ye to send a message to Drake, explained how it came to be.
He revealed in the lengthy caption that he had no plans to meet the 44-year-old initially, but it happened. The famed music executive urged for the black community to "embrace the movement thinking, over the moment thinking."
He disclosed that he set up a meeting with Kanye at the request of Hoover, who shared that he wanted the feud between Drake and Kanye to end for good.
Prince then shared that Kanye was pleased with the message "because he never had anyone that sat him down and explained things to him the way I did." The 57-year-old ended his message hoping for reconciliation and unison in the community.
All About Kanye And Drake's Feud
As you might know, Kanye and Drake have been at loggerheads for the longest time. As The Blast previously covered, things began spiraling between the duo when the "God's Plan" crooner was spotted with Ye's ex, Amber Rose.
Although Drake had always been vocal about his adoration for Kanye, he soon began seeing Kanye as a rival. However, things escalated when Pusha-T, a close friend of Kanye, shared details about Drake's son in a diss track.

Ever since, it's been a hot war between the pair, sometimes resulting in fans of the rappers attacking the other's property. Drake hasn't responded to Kanye's request, but we hope it's the start of a friendship.
