It surprised fans to hear the unfortunate news about her passing in October, especially the ones aware of the beautiful bond they shared. Many sent out prayers and healing messages to him following his tragic loss.

Since his mother, Beverly Tate, was in the hospital, Snoop Dogg shared her journey with his followers. The rapper also posted a touching tribute to her after she passed. But what exactly was the cause of her demise?

The Reason For Tate's Death is Unknown

Though Snoop Dogg was updating his Instagram fans since she was hospitalized, the reason for her illness was, however, undisclosed. The star only uploaded several pictures of himself with his mother in May and called on "prayer warriors" among his fans to pray for his mom.

He posted another Instagram picture of Tate in July, in which she was surrounded by her sons on a hospital bed. In the caption, he said, "Happy Sunday. Me and my brothers went to see mama today, and she opened her eyes to see us and let us know she still fighting."

The post was a hint that his mother may have been previously unconscious. He then concluded the caption by expressing his gratitude to his fans for their prayers and well wishes during the tough time he was going through. Many fans responded, wishing her a quick recovery.

Unfortunately, the 70-year-old Tate eventually passed away after a three-month-long struggle for wellness in the hospital. However, the cause of her illness is yet to be revealed by the rapper, and many fans still wonder.

Beverly Tate Died On October 25, 2021

The star posted on Instagram to inform his millions of followers about his mom's passing on Monday, October 25. In the photo, he was embracing Tate, and he captioned it, "Mama, thank u for having me." Many fans and celebrities expressed their condolences.

He also posted another beautiful photo of Tate holding a bouquet, and he captioned it, "Thank u, God, for giving me an angel for a mother." Vernell Varnado, Snoop Dogg's father, made an Instagram post as well, in which he confirmed the news and asked for prayers.

The rapper revealed that he was aware of Tate's passing before performing at a show in Boston. Although many would have understood if he had canceled, Snoop Dogg was determined to follow through with his appointment.

During an interview he recently had with the radio show The Breakfast Club, he admitted that his first thought was to cancel when he heard the tragic news. However, after a moment of reflection, he believed his mother would have wanted him to go on stage, and he did it.

Snoop's Relationship With Tate

While Snoop Dogg's biological father reportedly left the scene a few months after his birth, the star has expressed that his mother was always present and was a consistent source of support and love all through his life.

It was abundantly clear to fans the love they shared, and it must have meant the world to the 50-year-old star that through his tough times, his mother was present to guide and support him in the ways that she could.

An example that shows their beautiful relationship was a video Snoop posted in 2016, in which he went to the store, purchased some groceries and food for his mother, then surprised her with the items by showing up at her house.

Fans could hear during the clips where Snoop and his mother expressed their love for each other. She said she "loved (him) more than enough," to which the star replied, "I love you more today than I did yesterday."

The controversial clip caught Snoop's attention, who made a lot of negative remarks towards King. Snoop finally decided to end the dispute after a while by sharing a public apology directed at King.

In a sit-down with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Table Talk, Snoop Dogg claimed that his reason for calling King out was to protect Bryant's wife, Vanessa. He also admitted that his mother made him realize the impact of his words.

He revealed that he was brought up in a Christian household and his mother always educated him on respecting women. Although the star never directly apologized to King, he expressed that he reached out to people in her life to tell her where he stood.
