Last night’s episode of “The Masked Singer” gave audiences another glimpse into the Group B batch of contestants: the Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts, the Mallard, the Banana Split duo, and a new wildcard called the Beach Ball.

However, the Beach Ball’s vocals failed to hold up to the quality caliber that most have come to expect from “TSM” contestants, and they were chosen for elimination after their first performance of Miley Cyrus’ hit single “Party in the USA.”

What Were The Judges' Guesses?

When it came down to the judging, Robin Thicke stuck with his first impression guess of Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs from “Two Broke Girls.”

Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg first guessed Kim Zolciak-Biermann and ErikaJayne, but later switched her guess to Snooki and JWoww from “The Jersey Shore.”

Ken Jeong stayed with his first impression guess of Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian.

Nicole Scherzinger believed it was Kristen Wiig and “the other girl from ‘Barb and Star,’” who would be Annie Mumolo.

Guest panelist Joel McHale supported Jenny’s guess, although he had initially guessed Tori Spelling and Tiffany Pollard.

In the end, the audience was stunned when host Nick Cannon unmasked Beach Ball to prove that none of the judge’s guesses were correct. Instead, it was Alana Thompson and her mother, June Shannon, also known as Honey Boo Boo and Mama June from “Toddlers & Tiaras” and “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

Mama June Wanted To Reconnect With Her Daughter

In a post-unmasking interview, Mama June said that she wanted to do with the show with her daughter to give the two something to bond over.

“I was in my addiction,” she confessed. “I was away from my kids for two years. Now I’m fixing to celebrate two years clean. This is the first project outside our show that we’ve done together. It feels kind of nice. I cried. That’s why I missed the first line. I always do whenever she performs.”

Although Honey Boo Boo appreciated the time reconnecting with her mom, she couldn’t help but elaborate on some of the difficulties they experienced trying to perform inside the giant costume.

“It was definitely very hot,” Thompson shared. “We had to move the mouth and make sure we don’t roll off the stage. It was a lot!”

“She was in the back of the ball,” she added, pointing to her mother. “You know I gotta be the star of the show!”

The Beach Ball Gets Some Serious Fan Backlash

Although it was great to see the mother and daughter team bonding together, fans were less than impressed by their singing abilities and quickly took to social media to express their dismay.

“That had to be the worst performance I ever heard on this show,” one fan wrote.

“What a waste of an episode,” another added.

Another wrote, “Mama June was a tiny bit better than Honey Boo Boo but they were both tone-deaf.”

“Probably the worst performance in Masked Singer history,” another tweeted. “Just send them home no voting necessary.”

In last week’s episode, no one was eliminated as the show counted down the top ten performances of the past six seasons.

“The Masked Singer” airs Wednesday nights on Fox.
