Drake Contacts WNBA About Possible Expansion to Hometown Of Toronto

The WNBA is starting to grow even more in popularity, as the list of celebrities attending these games are also increasing. It's started to peak Drake's interest as well, as he may have a huge move in the works, with the WNBA.
Drake Wants A WNBA Team In Toronto
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Drake took to his Instagram stories, to contact the WNBA. It was there, that he expressed his desire to have a WNBA franchise in his hometown. Drake's post read "@WNBA I need a Toronto team."
Drake didn't add any extra IG stories to elaborate further, but many fans assume that he could possibly invest in a WNBA team being placed in Toronto. Regarding current expansion efforts, the WNBA is reportedly looking at cities such as Charlotte, Houston, and Philadelphia. Toronto would be the first Canadian city to ever have a WNBA team, if Drake is able to pull this move off. The WNBA is also fresh off of a very exciting Finals series, in which the Chicago Sky earned their first WNBA title, over the Phoenix Mercury.
Drake Is Currently An Ambassador For The Toronto Raptors
Drake's basketball fandom is always on display, as he also works with his home team Toronto Raptors, of the NBA. He is the global ambassador for the team, and this has been the case, ever since 2013. Drake also assists in different creative aspects of the Raptors, such as designing black and gold OVO jerseys, to wear in games. Drake is also very energetic while court side at games, and interacts with some of the best players in the league. Drake was able to see his Raptors take home an NBA championship, in June 2019, when they defeated the heavily-favored Golden State Warriors.
Drake Received His Own Custom $150,000 Championship Ring
Toronto was the place to be, in the summer of 2019, following the Raptors' championship run. The team received amazing championship rings, the following season, and Drake was included. For his ring, he reportedly choose the design, and was made by jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills. This ring displays the Raptors' logo, as well as the "North" wording, with a background view of Toronto's skyline. This ring was said to be worth $150,000, and reportedly contained more diamonds, than any other championship ring in NBA history.

Drake's New Album Has Been Doing Historic Numbers
Drake also released his sixth studio album, "Certified Lover Boy," in September. That was put out, after a nine-month delay, and fans immediately enjoyed the end result. It spent three consecutive weeks at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart, and has since hit five weeks, in total. It also contained the soon-to-be number one song in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. in "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Young Thug and Future. CLB also debuted nine songs in the top 10, of the Hot 100 chart, following its release.
