Mariah Carey Going All In This Christmas With New Song & Holiday Special

There are artists like Michael Buble, who run away from the Christmas label. He's mentioned that he gets annoyed by the memes that show up every year of him leaving a cave around this time. Other artists though love to be tied to the holiday. Mariah Carey is proving once again that she is one of the artists that love to be associated with the holiday. In what could be considered an awkward move she's actually getting ready to release a new Christmas song. Why would you fix what isn't broken when, "All I want for Christmas is You" still tops the chart every year? Anyway, Mariah is not taking this journey alone. Bringing along Khalid and gospel vocalist Kirk Franklin for her new single!

Mariah has actually released a preview of the song. We can hear right off the bat that the single is going to include some of those iconic over the top Mariah Carey vocals! In the Twitter post where she teased the song she also posted a link to the download page. The single is set to be available this Friday. Mariah, also encouraged fans to get their CD. At first, we too thought that Mariah was stuck in 2003 with that CD reference. It's actually true though. She is putting out a commemorative limited edition CD that features the song and potentially other Mariah Carey holiday classics. If you're a big Mariah fan, and you want to go old school this could be your chance.

Last year Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special was such a hit on Apple TV+ that they want to bring her back this year! Mariah has already recorded a new holiday special that is going to be featured on the streaming platform titled, "Mariah Christmas: The Magic Continues". The special is going to include a never before seen performance of the new holiday song that she has coming out. Like we mentioned Mariah has learned to embrace the fact that she now owns the winter holidays, and she probably makes some pretty good money doing so. She recently kicked off the season with a viral video that we reported on. Where she smashed a couple of pumpkins to signal the end of the Halloween season and start of the Christmas holiday season. We're not even at Thanksgiving yet, and we're already seeing Mariah in her trademark Santa's elf costume.

There's a very good reason why Apple was the first company to realize that Mariah Carey now owns Christmas and that's potentially why they were quick to sign her on for these Christmas specials. Her iconic song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is already creeping up the charts. The holiday anthem has cracked the top 200 songs on the streaming platform. We're only a few days into November. Some folks are getting into that holiday spirit really early on.
