English actress Daisy Ridley, 29, is getting ready to make her return to the silver screen in a new sci-fi thriller.

Although the actress was a relative unknown before she landed her role as the Jedi Rey in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, Ridley has quickly moved on to other projects, including the drama "Murder on the Orient Express" and the dystopian "Chaos Walking" opposite "The Amazing Spider-Man" Tom Holland.

With more high-profile projects under her belt, Ridley is set to play the leading lady in a new science fiction film.

Daisy Ridley Stars As A Futuristic Drug Trafficker

Although her role in "Star Wars" was kept closely under wraps, fans know what to expect from Ridley as she stars in the futuristic "Mind Fall."

The plot seems similar to "Inception" or Hugh Jackman's latest drama "Reminiscence."

Set in a futuristic London, the plot revolves around memories, which are able to be implanted from one person's brain to another. These "mems," as they're called, have become the most sought-after "drug" of the era, as they become almost indistinguishable from a person's real memories once implanted.

Ridley plays a drug trafficker named Ardis Varnado who removes memories and then resells them to clients for a high price.

However, after she is accused of murdering one of her clients, Ridley must work to uncover the killer while struggling to determine if her own memories are real or implanted.

The film will be directed by "La Haine" French director Mathieu Kassovitz and will be written by "The Imitation Game" writer GrahamMoore.

Other Projects

The "Ophelia" star will also return to the screen in the psychological thriller "The Marsh King's Daughter." Although the film has entered post-production, no release date has been announced.

In the meantime, Ridley is also ready to lend her acting talents to a different kind of acting: voice acting.

Ridley is set to star in the audiobook "Zoetrope," which features a girl suspected of killing her boss after she finds his body on her bathroom floor.

While Ridley was doing an interview promoting her new role, she also let slip that she recently went to breakfast with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Although it might have just been a social call, fans couldn't help but wonder if Ridley was hinting that she was ready to reprise her role as the Force-sensitive Rey in a future "Star Wars" project.

Will Daisy Ridley Return To ‘Star Wars’?

Although Ridley has been non-committal about whether or not she will return to the franchise, there are plenty of projects to satisfy "Star Wars" fans in the meantime.

Although there are no new "Star Wars" films scheduled until 2023 with Patty Jenkins' "Rogue Squadron," there are a plethora of new live-action titles on Disney+.

"The Book of Boba Fett" will debut on December 29, 2021. Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" will drop sometime in 2022. The show is so popular that KISS rocker Gene Simmonsclaims to be a fan and Lizzo even dressed as Baby Yoda for Halloween.

"Kenobi" and "Ahsoka" also have an anticipated 2022-2023 release date, with Hayden Christensenset to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in both shows.

If Christensen is ready to return to a galaxy far, far away over a decade later, then fans have hope that Ridley will pick up her lightsaber again someday.
