Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. Recreate 'Dirty Dancing' Scene For Halloween

Co-stars of the 1997 horror flick “I Know What You Did Last Summer” Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar have been a power couple ever since they started dating and became engaged in 2001.

The pair got married in 2002, the same year they shared the screen in the live-action “Scooby-Doo” film as Fred and Daphne. They appeared again in the 2004 sequel “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” and also shared voicing acting credits in the animated cartoon “Star Wars: Rebels.” Freddie Prinze Jr. voiced the Jedi Kanan Jarrus, while Gellar had a smaller role voicing the villainous Seventh Sister.

Although the two have yet to share the screen again, Gellar showed off the couple’s amazing chemistry in a Halloween photo recreating an iconic scene from the 1987 film “Dirty Dancing.”

For fans who haven’t seen “Dirty Dancing,” the story revolves around a girl named Baby (Jennifer Grey) who heads to a sleepy resort in the Catskills with her parents. After she meets the resort’s dance instructor, Johnny (Patrick Swayze), the two fall in love, although her father forbids her from seeing him. However, the star-crossed lovers are determined to perform together in the last dance of the summer.

Make-up artist Rachel Goodwin was the first to comment on the post, writing, “OMG you guys are the best!”

Lindsay Prince commented “It was worth the wait” alongside a laughing-face emoji.

Husband Freddie Prinze Jr. responded to the post with three laughing-face emojis, to which a fan replied, “y’all nailed it.”

“You guys are not just cute and adorable, but also fun,” another fan wrote.

Part of the reason fans love the couple so much is due to a 2001 interview with radio host Howard Stern. Stern was convinced that Freddie Prinze Jr.’s marriage to Sarah Michelle Gellar wouldn’t last ten years.

“Oh, it absolutely will last,” Prinze said at the time.

“You think you're gonna know how you feel at 35?” Stern countered. “You're gonna be a completely different dude.”

“And she will be a completely different woman, but that's alright,” Prinze replied.

Considering the couple will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary sometime next year, it looks like they’re doing something right!
