Amanda Rollins has been quite the character on Law & Order: SVU and came on strongly once the series had to adjust to the sudden exit of Christopher Meloni aka Detective Elliot Stabler. Initially shown to be a hotheaded cop with little regard for victims, Rollins slowly becomes empathetic under the able hands of then Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek). She also plays fast and loose with her love life, until she finally becomes a mother. Here’s Rollins’ rollercoaster love life, and a little DL on the new “love” of her life.
Carisi may have made us forget the very existence of Nick Amaro (Danny Pino), but once Amaro and Rollins were more than just mere partners. While nothing was ever said or made official, the body language is shown on screen, and a towel-clad Amanda sitting on Amaro’s couch at his home makes it clear. Plus when Rollins finds out she is pregnant, for the first time, she tells Amaro that the baby isn’t his. The romance may haven’t been there, but the physicality was.
Rollins now has two daughters, each from different fathers. Her first little girl, Jessie was biologically the daughter of Rollins’ earlier CO, Lt. Declan Murphy, played by Donald Brogue. Her first pregnancy is a tough one, even though Murphy does show up to give her his direct line if she ever needs one. Her second little girl is with her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Al Pollack, who proposes to her after she gives birth to Billie. However, Rollins turns him down because she doesn’t love him.
Carisi picks up from where Amaro leaves off, and somewhere in between, the series hints at the attraction between Rollins and Carisi. Partners, Carisi also helps Rollins out during her times as a new mother because he himself hails from a large family. Recently, when Rollins is abducted by a man seeking justice for his daughters, Carisi is distraught. When Rollins finally emerges unscathed from her ordeal, it is Carisi who she breaks down in front of. The plot is definitely thickening.
The new man in Amanda Rollins’ life may not be A.D.A Dominick Carisi. In fact, with the entrance of Ari’el Stachel as Sergeant Hasim Khaldun, the Carisi-Rollins storyline may not just be going ahead, for now. And Sergeant Hasim Khaldun isn’t strictly about work for he even took Kelli Giddish‘s Rollins out for dinner after they worked together to solve the tough case. So we wonder if this was a one-time thing, or is “Rollisi” simply not going to happen for good?
