According to a report, "The View" employees were told not to speak to McCain to keep the paparazzo at bay. These allegations surfaced when McCain was set to release an autobiography about her tenure on the ABC talk show titled "Bad Republican."

Who Is Responsible For McCain's Ban?

With McCain now contributing to the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom, rumors claimed that executive producer Brian Teta is "paranoid" about leaks.

"Brian has gone insane. I'm curious as to what he thinks this is," An insider told Page Six. "We've been advised not to speak with anyone from outside who holds opposing political beliefs... who used to work with us."

However, the source insinuated that several people were still in contact with McCain and refused to follow Teta's directive.

In response to this speculation, the show's publicist denied the claims, stating that none of them are real. "This isn't correct. Nobody has been forbidden from speaking with McCain. Our attention is on the exciting season ahead, and we wish McCain the best in her new chapter, and Meghan is being thought of warmly. She and Brian parted on friendly terms."

McCain's Reaction To The Alleged Ban

McCain made her final appearance on "The View" in early August 2021, ending a contentious era. During her time on the show, the conservative co-host made headlines for her rants against her fellow panelists.

Nevertheless, with the rumors of her ex-colleagues being banned from talking to her flying around, the former "The View" host has aired her thoughts on the situation.

"So, I read this, if that's true, they're doing a poor job since my hair and makeup artists at The View, or at least one of them does stay in contact now. And I still employ their stylists and talk to a lot of the hosts, including Hostin."

She explained that her relationship with some of her ex-co-hosts and workers was very much intact, and this debunked the rumors to a large extent.

Who Will Take Meghan McCain's Place?

McCain's permanent replacement hasn't been announced by "The View." Nonetheless, producers have experimented with various conservative personas to fill in for her since her departure. This includes guest co-host, Ana Navarro.

Despite what people believe, producer Teta stated that they are not seeking someone to clash with the other panelists.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Teta remarked, "We're going to seek folks who can present an alternative view, a good dialogue and has chemistry with these strong women. I mean, we're not seeking for battles — we've never been searching for fights, we simply want people to engage in a lively, impassioned discussion."
