Gwyneth Paltrow is a renowned Hollywood star. She has garnered several awards for her performances, including a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, an Academy Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award.
As a popular figure, any personal info about her is goggled by fans who are ever eager to know more about their favorite. One time, she trended online when Kelly Killoren Bensimon mentioned her in an argument with Bethenny Frankel in "Real Housewives Of New York" season three.
Since then, fans have desired to confirm Paltrow's side of the story as it was too juicy to be one-sided.
Finally, in a recent interview with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," the Oscar-winning actor quelled it all by stating her view on the entire issue. Keep reading below for more information.
Andy Cohen Inquires About Bensimon's Mysterious Claims
Talk show host Andy Cohen is known for his suave words, which he weaves to pry details from his guests. Thanks to him, fans finally got the chance to unearth the buried secrets of the drama.
When Paltrow appeared on his show, he saw it as a perfect opportunity to ask her about how she got embroiled in the "RHONY" issue. "I have to tell you, we've never asked you this, you've been on the show before. And every time you come on, we get this question for you," Cohen said.
"Your name was notoriously dropped during season 3 of a very famous episode of "The Real Housewives of New York City" on Scary Island. I just want you to watch this clip and tell me if any of this makes sense to you."
After watching the short video, Cohen asked her if the claim was true. Although the actress did not say anything, her facial expression suggested she had no idea about the entire scenario.
"All right, there you go!" Cohen quipped after her reaction. "That's all I needed to know. Thank you."
How It All Started
Taking a throwback to the genesis of the matter, fans of "RHONY" can recall how it all went down in season three, episode 12 of the franchise.
The housewives were settling into a getaway at a luxurious island villa when tensions flared between Frankel and Bensimon. During the heated argument that ensued, the reality stars lashed out at each other for various reasons.
Things turned more interesting when Bensimon name-dropped Paltrow in a manner that suggested they were close friends and mentioned that her co-star had an issue with Paltrow.
At that time, this tidbit was unverified, and viewers had to take Bensimon's claims as the truth. The season ended, and several sequels created since then piled on the whole issue.
After all these years, the truth has finally seen the light.
Fans Bashed Bensimon On Social Media
Fans' reaction to Paltrow's silent denial of the claims shook social media. They thrashed Bensimon, with most writing that the reality star had gone off the rails.
"LOL it has finally been confirmed that Kelly Bensimon is crazier than Gwyneth Paltrow," one user wrote.
Another said that Bensimon was delusional for assuming that her accidental meeting with Paltrow was equivalent to a full-blown friendship.
"Quite a stretch to meet someone at a party and then claim that person is a "Friend." Sounds delusional to me. Also, Paltrow knows NOTHING about Frankel attacking her, so it's more made up crap from Kelly's breakdown on Scary Island," she said.
A third commented on the reveal, said that Paltrow wanted to avoid shaming the reality star publicly. "It kind of looks like Gwyneth was saying no, but being nice about it," the fan explained.
Kelly Bensimon's View About Bethenny Frankel
The iconic scene from that season was a physical outlet for the bad blood between Bensimon and Frankel. They rarely saw eye to eye during their time on Bravo's reality show, as confirmed in a new memoir about the franchise authored by Dave Quin.
According to Page Six, a snippet from the book detailed a conversation where Bensimon alleged she made Frankel feel "insecure."
"Bethenny was just looking for attention. She was so insecure," the Only Fans star said, "Remember, she was the old guard and I was the new, pretty, fun girl. She didn't have kids. I was a mom with young kids. She was struggling in her career, I was accomplished."
She further accused her co-star of envy and claimed that the bad vibes she had, made her mature into a "nemesis." Whether this is true or not, most fans might take this info with a pinch of salt.
