Everyone’s favorite country-turned pop princess was not in attendance at the 62nd Grammy Awards. But was the exact reason why she did not attend the most highly anticipated music awards of the year? Some people are speculating that it was for some shady reasons. But we don’t think that the ‘You Need To Calm Down’ singer would skip out on music’s biggest night for a silly reason like everyone is saying that she would. Besides, who knows the Grammy’s better than Swift?
Taylor Swift is certainly no stranger to The Grammy Awards. At the Grammy’s, winning an award is often the peak of a musician’s career. It puts them over the top and gives them that edge. The main focus of Netflix’s newest documentary “Miss Americana,” has been nominated for a whopping 35 Grammy’s at her young and tender age of 30. She has won a total of ten Grammy’s over the span of her career that began when she was just 15 years old.
This year, at The Grammy’s, Swift was up for three awards. They included Best Solo Pop Performance for ‘You Need to Calm Down,’ Song of the Year for ‘Lover,’ and Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘Lover.’ However, she was not at the awards ceremony, even though she was nominated for these accolades. However, she did not make an appearance at the awards. She was even supposed to surprise the audience with a performance. However, she had pulled out of the ceremony, and the performance being private did not interrupt the flow of the show.
#MissAmericana is on @NetflixFilm! I’m excited for you to see it. I want to thank Lana Wilson for her curiosity & for wanting to make this film. It’s wild to be sharing so much of my life because it’s scary to be vulnerable! (understatement of the century) https://t.co/Ot56y6jnCs pic.twitter.com/U40wFv82JL

As everyone know by now, Billie Eilish made a clean sweep at the Grammys, taking home an amazing five awards. Some “sources” are saying that Swift’s team was trying to find out if the singer won any awards.”While it wasn’t an explicit demand, they certainly were fishing to find out if Taylor was a winner. It was understood in the conversation that if she’s not winning, she’s not coming to the Grammys.” However, her team vehemently denies this broad speculation.
However, these rumors are pretty unfounded. A spokesperson for Swift said, “I am on the record: These statements by anonymous, unidentified ‘sources’ are absolutely, 100% false and laughable. She just didn’t go to the Grammys. You guys need to calm down.” Yes, they actually used Swift’s own lyrics to let everyone know why Swift was not at the awards show. The reason that she was not at the Grammy’s is probably the same reason that she ducked out of The Sundance Film Festival premiere of her Netflix movie, “Miss Americana.”
On Thursday, January 23, she left abruptly after being on hand to introduce her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.” However, she ducked out just at the ending credits, not even staying around for the question and answer segment afterward. As it turns out, Swift’s mother, Andrea is battling a brain tumor. Swift said, “Everyone loves their mom; everyone’s got an important mom,” she told Variety. “But for me, she’s really the guiding force. Almost every decision I make, I talk to her about it first. So obviously it was a really big deal to ever speak about her illness.”
