Miley Cyrus drove her Instagram fans straight to a pizza stain on her clothing this week – the 27-year-old singer took to the platform on Monday with dad Billy Ray and Lil Nas X, mentioning both the musicians present and what appeared to be a food stain on her shirt.
The photo came as congratulations for Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X’s recent Grammy win – while the twosome’s “Old Town Road” track didn’t win its Record of the Year nomination, it did win Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Miley’s photo showed her indoors and taking up the foreground with Billy Ray and new sensation Lil Nas X. All three were posing indoors and against a wall with crested paint details.
While Billy Ray wore black with his statement hat present, Lil Nas X was jazzing things up in a blue shirt paired with an animal-print hat. The “Slide Away” singer was flaunting her trim physique in a white and very braless crop top, also posing with her tongue stuck out as she wore a brown hat. A caption mentioned the Grammy wins. It also directed fans to the star’s shirt.
“Congrats to my dad @billyraycyrus and baby brother @lilnasx on their 2 Grammy awards!!!!!! ( P.S. couldn’t one of y’all Grammy winnin’ f*ckers tell me I have pizza on my shirt at the damn function!),” Miley wrote.
Miley’s update didn’t take long to generate a response, both in likes and comments. The post managed to clock in over 500,000 likes in just one hour, also bringing in a wave of replies.
“U have pizza on your shirt,” a fan wrote, perhaps joking at Miley’s mild fury at not having been informed.
Lil Nas X himself also replied with a similar message.
“You have pizza on ur shirt miley,” he wrote.
The comment racked up over 5,000 in under an hour.
Many other users took to the comments section with the same mention.
To be fair, winning an award when you haven’t been nominated is tough going. Despite releasing her six-track EP SHE IS COMING in 2019, Miley was not nominated for a Grammy this year.
“You deserved a grammy for Mother’s Daughter. let’s talk about it,” one fan wrote.
Major wins from the 2020 Grammys were seen by 18-year-old “bad guy” singer Billie Eilish and “Truth Hurts” singer Lizzo. Superstar Demi Lovato gave her first performance in a year, but the evening was tinged with sadness and fans and stars paid tribute to the tragic passing of NBA icon Kobe Bryant.
Before Miley was making headlines for her shock split from actor Liam Hemsworth, the singer was fronting Elle and speaking of both her marriage and her career. The latter saw the singer divulge that being judged for flashing the flesh was of little consequence to her.
“I think now I actually have the respect that I want. When I walk into a room, people may think, “Okay, she gets her ti-s out.” But they also think, “But she’s got a f-cking sick voice,” and that’s all I care about,” Miley told the magazine.
