Meghan McCain REFUSES To Let Her Daughter Go On 'The View'

It’s no secret Meghan McCain didn’t really enjoy her time on “The View,” scratch that, she was a MISERABLE during her time on the day-time talk show.

She often bumped heads with her co-hosts and was often made to be the villain on the show.

McCain eventually announced she would be leaving the show on July 1, ending her four-season run at the end of the month. Her reason at the time was to focus on her baby girl, Liberty.

The conservative talk show host made the announcement on the show saying, “So I am just going to rip the Band-Aid off. I am here to tell all of you, my wonderful co-hosts and the viewers at home, that this is going to be my last season here at ‘The View.'”

At the time of her announcement, she got one last jab in adding, “I will still be here another month so if you want to fight a little more, we have four more weeks.”

Since leaving the female-led talk show, McCain has spoken in depth about her experience working on the show.

Earlier this week, The Blast reported on another major reason why McCain jumped ship so soon.

She revealed an issue that came up during one of the previous episodes of the show.

In a December 2019 episode, an argument came up between her and Whoopi Goldberg regarding the issue of presidential impeachment, and Goldberg lost it.

They exchanged words on the show, and Goldberg kept commanding her to stop talking. She was stunned and said she wouldn’t talk again for the rest of the show. Surprisingly, Goldberg replied that she was okay with that.

During an interview with Ramin Setoodah, the talk show co-host admitted that the heated argument and exchange of words that day was the beginning of an unfriendly atmosphere between the duo.

And the rest as they say is ‘View’ history and a major reason why McCain won’t allow her daughter to ever be a part of the show.

On Thursday, October 21, the former ‘View’ host stopped by E!’s “Daily Pop.”

When asked about how life is after the show she responded, "I definitely am having a lot more fun. It's just been nice honestly to be able to talk about something other than politics."

McCain once again opened up about her reason for leaving.

"I am actually a pretty sensitive person and there are people you love to hate, but it felt like towards my last season it just became 'We hate to hate her,'" McCain opened up. "I did feel a shift in my last season that there was no love coming from the audience, and that was a factor in why I left."

As for her thoughts on Liberty being a co-host on “The View,” "I would chain her to my car and say 'Nooo!'" the first-time mother said.

"I would kill her. I want her to do anything except what we do. I don't want her to do anything in television," McCain explained.
