Beyonce is a singing superstar and industry icon when it comes to her musical career but last year, the singer worked with Disney and became the voice for adult Nala in the "live action" remake of The Lion King. But, what is next? Will Beyonce once again be on the big screen with the entertainment conglomerate or is she hanging up her acting/voice acting hat forever and never doing it again. Here is all we know about what is next for the star.

While not a critical success, the remake of The Lion King was a financial success and became one of the biggest movies of the summer last year. It featured big names such as Seth Rogan, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, and, yes, the queen of music herself Beyonce portraying one of the lead roles.

Beyonce had a few reasons to be a part of this movie: she wanted her kids to be able to enjoy and she had personal connections with its production.

Beyonce stated in an interview with Oprah Magazine, “I’m so excited for my kids to see it, but it means even more to share this experience and this culture of The Lion King with my mother and my family."

Her other connection was the location of the premeire, the WACO (Where Art Can Occur) Theater Center. WACO is an institution founded by Tina Knowles, the aunt of the world-known singer and an American business woman, and her husband Richard Lawson.

The artist also produced a full-length album to go along with the movie. “We’ve kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack is the first soundtrack where it becomes visual in your mind,” the singer said during an interview with Good Morning America. “The soundscape is more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film.”

She even featured her daughter Blue Ivy on one of the songs and earned the little girl her first hit song.

At this point, there is no official news on another movie in the works for the megastar. However, Metro reports talks between Beyonce and Disney that say they would give her "free reign to create her own movies under the Disney umbrella… The conversations are ongoing but it’s an exciting proposition."

Fans will just have to wait to see if Beyonce will be featured on any Disney movies in the future, but until then they can watch the remake of The Lion King.
