Adele Reveals She Can't Do This 'Forever' After Landing CBS Concert

After a hiatus of about six years, with very few public appearances in between, British Singer Adele plans to release a new album titled "30" very soon.

The pandemic delayed the release of the album, shifting its debut date to November 19, 2021. The award-winning songstress gave fans a sneak peek of what to expect by releasing the "Easy On Me" single earlier this month.

To also mark her comeback to the music scene, Adele landed her individual CBS special in which she will perform some songs from her anticipated album.

Titled "Adele One Night Only," the show will air on the network five days before the release of her newest compilation. The two-hour special will also feature an in-depth interview about a variety of issues. Read on to get more details about this CBS deal.

Adele had, in the past, performed in similar events just before her album release. She debuted her chart smashing record "21" with "Adele Live in London" in 2012 and performed another one "Adele Live in New York City" in 2015 to mark her "25" album. Both aired on the NBC television network.

Aside from Adele playing some new materials from the album, the CBS special will star multi-hyphenate Oprah Winfrey as she interviews the songstress.

"The special will feature an exclusive interview with Adele by Oprah Winfrey from her rose garden, in Adele's first televised wide-ranging conversation about her new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son," the network said in a press release.

On Sunday, November 14, fans can tune in to watch the show or stream it live on Paramount+. The show will be produced by James Corden and Ben Winston's Fulwell 73 and Onward Productions in association with Winfrey's Harpo Productions.

As per reports, the "Skyfall" singer is "delighted to get back out there and start performing again" after issuing her first new song in years.

"Easy On Me" was released on October 15, 2021, and has since seen its viewership skyrocket into millions on YouTube. The emotional lyrics mixed with Adele's melodious vocals overwhelmed her fans as they bawled on social media.

"Dear Boss, I need a day off to have a good cry and will be back on Monday. Thank you #Adele," a fan tweeted.

Sports journalist Leah Vann also voiced out the heart-wrenching effects of the song in a post on Twitter. "It's Thursday evening. Adele drops a single. You're crying into your wine despite the fact your love life (or lack thereof) is drama-free."

The Grammy winner divulged her feelings about making new music after a long hiatus. She disclosed that it took a toll on her as she was still battling her ex in a divorce lawsuit.

"It was bloody hard work to make. I was singing things I didn't even realize I was feeling or thinking, but I'm really proud of it," Adele said in a recent interview.

"I can't unlock a key to the door with my mental health and take it with me, I've got to leave it in the door for everyone else... I'm in a strong place to put that vulnerability out... I'm really proud of it."

She added: "I feel like I lost sight and lost the appreciation of what a gift it is to make music. I got a bit frightened of it for a while, but it really took care of me."

"I don't know what my outlet would have been had I not had it... It was bloody hard work to make emotionally."

Despite the immense success of her music career, Adele insisted that she plans to retire eventually.

The mother of one disclosed this to Greg James on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show. "I won't be doing this forever," she said. 'I don't want to do this forever and people won't want me to do it forever.'

James contradicted her opinion, but the singer refused to dispel those thoughts. "[Nobody wants to see me] when I'm 95 or hear me whining or chain-smoking, living like a 'Grey Gardens' character with all my cats, being eaten alive," quipped the "Hello" crooner.

The hitmaker also disclosed that some of her intimate friends helped vet her upcoming album by sharing their brutal opinions during her songwriting process. Either way, most fans of the singer are highly anticipating the album's release.
