Jessica Chastain Reveals Truth Behind Nude Scenes With Oscar Isaac

But that did not stop the actors from going nude in HBO‘s limited series, “Scenes From A Marriage” where they play a desperately unhappy couple. Chastain had one condition for doing scenes, and it’s making Isaac’s fans thank her for her, well, generosity.

While Chastain and Isaac have been friends for a long time, since college, they are happily married to other people. Both got hitched in 2017. While Chastain married Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, Isaac married his wife, Elvira Lind. That did not stop Isaac from swooping in and placing a kiss on Chastain’s inner arm, which, to his credit, really did look sexy in slow motion. 

In real life, Chastain joked on NBC’s “Today” show about it, saying, “I think it was really funny because when you look at it at regular speed, I’m looking straight ahead and he looks over at me. He just kind of goes to give me a peck on my elbow, and at the same time, I’m going to give him a hug. So all of a sudden, his face ends up in my armpit.”

So why did Jessica agree to do nude scenes for the series? According to Chastain, while nudity is not a problem for her, what is sauce for the goose has to be for the gander too, literally.

This is what she had to say about it, as per an interview with The View. “Well, I said to Hagai [Levi], who wrote and directed in the series, I said in the very beginning, ‘I’m comfortable with all the nudity, but any part of my body that you show, you’re going to have to show the same with Oscar.”

And so, Oscar Isaac ended up doing full-frontal nudity, because Chastain made sure it was all gender-balanced. Watch Chastain and Isaac talk about their feelings.

The scene in question is filmed in the shower and Chastain simply stated that since the audience could see her body, well, they had to see Oscar’s too.

What were Isaac’s feelings about it all? Said the “Dune” actor that while he was fine with the nudity, at least on paper, when he saw the scene, he was surprised. It was only then he realized that it was “there for everyone” to see. Guess it’s more the merrier for his fans.
