The popular reality television show “Vanderpump Rules” recently returned for another stint on the Bravo network.

The spin-off of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is in its ninth season and has brought back the female lead, Lisa Vanderpump, and the staff at her restaurants, SUR Restaurant & Lounge, Pump Restaurant, and Tom Tom Restaurant & Bar in West Hollywood, CA.

However, a major change has occurred since season eight of the show last aired on June 16, 2020. Fans quickly noticed the absence of several original cast members like Kristen Doute, Stassi Schroeder Clark, Max Boyens, Brett Caprioni Jax Taylor, and Brittany Cartwright Cauchi.

Although they all left for various reasons, many believed that the bond between the ex-cast and executive producer, Vanderpump would remain tight after their departure.

Contrary to public belief, Vanderpump revealed that her relationship with them has tailed off despite the years spent together on set. One way of putting it is that as soon as they leave the show, they become strangers.

Lisa Vanderpump Has Moved On

During an interview with ET Online, the reality star disclosed that maintaining a relationship with her former cast members was out of the question as they no longer work for her.

“I don’t have anything much to do with interacting with them,” she said. “I did send baby presents and have kind of congratulated them and we have spoken, but they’re not part of my life unless they’re really on the show or working for me.”

Many fans believe Vanderpump's actions stemmed from the Schroeder- Doute debacle. They got fired for reporting former co-star Faith Stowers to the police for a crime she didn’t commit, coupled with their racially insensitive remarks on social media.

Months later, Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright also exited the show for family reasons. They took to Instagram to say their goodbyes and teased fans about future projects.

“Although this is difficult to share, we will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules,” they said in their post.

“We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors.”

Lisa Vanderpump Has No Ill Wishes For Her Ex Colleagues

Some fans believe that Vanderpump is being too harsh in how she approaches the idea of speaking to former VR colleagues, however, the reality star made it clear that she did not make the decision from a bitter place.

Rather, while she might not be looking at bonding with them, the 61-year-old also divulged that there was no animosity on her side.

Still, in the interview with ET, Vanderpump wished them well in their future projects and chipped in some advice.

“I wish them all well, I do,” she said. “I also think they needed to learn a lesson about, you know, respecting other people’s point of views and having empathy and looking at other people’s lives, not just through their own lens. Personally, I think a lot of people need to learn that.”

Lisa Vanderpump Reveals The Show’s New Angle

The British restaurateur also took the time to explain the script fans should expect to see as the new season unfolds.

“Ultimately, this group kind of also revolves around my world, the restaurant, coming to me for mentorship, and how cohesive that group is — of course things change — but the same way we’ve also introduced new cast members,” she said.

“You see Charli [Burnett], she’s very comfortable in this group. You see Lala Kent, you see James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss, how they’ve come to this group and things have changed. I think it’s always sad to lose people that have been part of the initial success. But that was Bravo’s decision and we’ve moved on.

She then threw a slight shade at the previous cast members saying their absence might not be missed.

“This [season] is so kind of action-packed and there are so many storylines, and the cast is pretty big as it is,” she said “So I don’t think anything was, per se, missed.”

What An Ex-Cast Thinks About Lisa Vanderpump

Since their departure, most of the cast members have kept mute about their relationship with Vanderpump.

However, back in March, Jax Taylor fielded a question on his Instagram live that revealed that he didn’t think much of her.

“I don’t talk to Lisa now, I haven’t spoken to her,” he said. “She’s in her own world, and I don’t really … she’s another one that, eh, I could care less about.” He added, “She’s in her own world. Nothing mean against her. I just don’t really care either way.”

He also disclosed he still shared a strong bond with some of his former castmates. “The only people that I stayed in contact with on the regular like day to day … I still talk to everybody day to day. Like I talk to Stassi probably three to four times a week,” he said.

“And I talk to Beau Cleark every day, I talk to Lala Kent a lot, I talk to James Kennedy once in a while. That’s about it really. I have no interest in anybody [else].”
