Michael Fassbender seems to be living life to the fullest. The “X Men” actor has basked in the spotlight in various acting roles such as “12 Years a Slave,” “300,” “Inglourious Basterds,” and the biopic “Steve Jobs.”

Having conquered the entertainment industry to a certain degree, the Irish-German actor is chasing his childhood dreams as a professional racer in motorsports.

He currently races in the European Le Mans Series, driving for Proton Competition.

In women affairs, Fassbender has also made a name for himself. Although he prefers to keep this part of himself private, he reportedly dated several hotshot ladies before tying the knot with Alicia Vikander.

For most male celebrities like Fassbender, fans mostly assume that their dating history might contain a long list of chic beauties.

When he found fame as an actor, the list grew longer, and the dating period got smaller. With celebs like Zoë Kravitz, Sunawin Leasi Andrews, Naomi Campbell, and Nicole Beharie all rumored to have been a Fassbender girl, the actor seemed to be winning in that regard.

Sadly, none of these relationships had a lifespan of more than two years. Fassbender blamed his past dating woes on his privileged life.

“I think the longest relationship that I’ve been in was two years,” he said in a chat with GQ magazine. “I started doing this when I was 17, so I guess in my dating, adult life, that kind of covers it.

The actor also shared this view in another interview with UK's Metro newspaper. “You’re in a position where people treat you differently,” Fassbender said. “There’s more of a buffet of choice. It’s not fair for somebody to be waiting for you.”

Like the famed phoenix, Fassbender rose from the ashes of his past relationships and has finally settled down with his current boo Vikander.

Despite his alleged unstable romantic past, the actor has not left a host of kids sprawling in his wake.

Currently, he has one child with his partner, Swedish actress Vikander. They met on the set of “The Light Between Oceans” and started dating shortly after.

They got married on October 14, 2017, in a quiet ceremony in Ibiza, Spain, and welcomed their child in 2021. Vikander recently gushed about her motherhood experience, stating that it gave her a different take on life.

“I now have a whole new understanding of life in general,” Vikander said to People. “That’s pretty beautiful, and obviously will give a lot to any of my work in the future.”

The couple has not revealed if they have plans to expand the family any time soon.

Fassbender is quite adept at staying in the limelight for his movie roles yet simultaneously shielded his personal affairs from the paparazzi.

His ways did not change when he got hitched, but rather, his privacy approach got more pronounced. In an interview with ET Canada, the actor divulged he saw no need to let people know about his matters.

“I’m not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger unless I feel like I need to. Why would I?” the BAFTA nominee asked.

“I might have been curious about actors’ lives when growing up. That’s human nature. We’re all curious about a lot of things. But my curiosity didn’t obligate them to tell me.”

He further opined that disclosing private information to the public might stir their view away from his acting.

“It’s the worst thing if you’re sitting there in the theatre-going, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who dates this person and likes to do this in the morning and that in the afternoon,” he said.

“Then you’re just watching a brand as opposed to an actor.”

Fassbender was born on April 2, 1977, in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, in the then-West Germany.

He grew up as a Catholic, attended a Catholic secondary school, and was made head altar boy at age 12.

For now, the actor is a long way from his strict religious upbringing but still feels people should live a moral life.

“I don’t practice anymore,” the actor said. “I think religion is here and now (he beats his heart), I don’t believe in heaven or hell, I think you just have to treat other people the way you’d like to be treated.”
