Queen Elizabeth has remarkably been able to attend all sorts of public events well into her nineties. The monarch has lost a couple of inches of height due to age. For the most part though, we've grown accustomed to seeing her walking upright without too much of a problem. Even in the most recent high-profile events that she has attended. Including the funeral for her husband Prince Philip. In her latest outing though was seen using a cane to help her walk. This was certainly something that garnered attention and concern for her overall health!

Sources close to the monarch did address the situation. Saying that the Queen was only using the cane for "comfort". The 95-year-old monarch was attending a service of Thanksgiving to mark the Centenary of the Royal British Legion on Tuesday. She and her daughter Princess Anne made their way to collegiate church in London. The Queen wore an elegant blue outfit with a matching hat. With Anne choosing a bright purple outfit. We're not doctors or chiropractors or anything close to that. However, the pictures of the Queen from the event do seem to confirm that in fact she was using the cane just for comfort. She's seen in multiple photos not even putting any weight on the cane. Just standing straight up as she usually does. Also, she isn't seen arching forward as people with canes sometimes do. Plus, she was carrying a characteristic large black bag. Just carrying that at 95 seems to be quite the accomplishment.

Other than the fact that she is 95 years old, and the relatively few people that reach that age typically have some type of trouble walking, there may be another reason why the Queen was using the cane. Her majesty actually has used a cane in public once before. That though happened when she was still in her 70s in the early 2000s. Back in 2003 The Queen went under the knife for a knee surgery after reportedly twisting her knee at Newmarket racecourse walking on uneven ground. At the time she had surgery to clean up some torn cartilage, and she ultimately recovered quite well. It's unclear whether this new accessory that she's carrying around is a consequence of that injury or just part of age.

As we mentioned there has been no official confirmation is to wether the current issue that the Queen is battling is related to her 2003 surgery. Palace rumors about The Queen going through some knee issues in the past few years go all the way back to 2018. The Queen may have spoken about her knee issues with close acquaintances. Her Majesty is unlikely though to go under the knife now or in the future. At least according to the rumors. Since she is concerned about the recovery period. Plus, having surgery at 95 isn't exactly a walk in the park!
