It is a bright prospect for pastry chefs since Queen Elizabeth is hiring one. The 95-year-old British monarch is looking to hire a Demi Chef De Partie who would be required to prepare a range of delicacies for the various functions held by the royals all over the year.
‘About You’ Section
This chef-hunting business isn’t some shady shindig straight from the kitchen. It follows a description of the ideal candidate for the job who will be able to keep up with the British sense and style of culinary delights. You can check the job description on the ‘Royal Household‘ website and see if you fit in the ‘about you’ section for the chef’s detailed description. Or maybe, is there a catch?
It looks like the British Royal pays great to detail and keep an eye out for the miraculous standards of what they serve, which is accurately reflected in the supposed ‘job description’. To successfully acquire the job is not a piece of cake, nor is it a part-time gig that a college student can grab onto to have some ‘acquaintances’ within the royal family.
Important Job, Please Be Qualified
The job at hand is important, and it calls for a qualified candidate with relevant experience and positive feedback to fill it. “As you’d expect, standards and attention to detail are exceptionally high here, and every day is busy, so you’ll need to be an ambitious and qualified Pastry chef with at least a year or two’s experience.”
You see, that’s a lot of experience. Not to mention, the insane amount of pressure of serving your ‘sweety dishes’ to some of the most important and top-tier people in the country. Talk about the stress!
Five-Star Experience? So-So
Experience in a five-star restaurant is not strictly required, but it would be preferable if you had it. Additionally, the royals require someone full of energy, has a strong desire to improve and has complete faith in their abilities.
“You may have some previous experience within a five-star kitchen or similar environment, but it’s your ability and enthusiasm to deliver efficiently across all aspects of the Pastry kitchen that we’re looking for.” The Royal family is looking for somebody who has hands-on experience with food although an inclined characteristic towards pastry is preferred.
Get Them Royal Treatment
The individual hired will most likely practice their skills at the Queen’s main residence at Buckingham Palace in London. The fit-for-the-role person can expect to be paid a handsome compensation, and if they do a better than the best job, chances are they will be given the chance to be a live-in on the residence! Woah! Talk about the royal living!
When someone new joins the team, the Queen encourages them to pursue training and development, and they will have access to a variety of recreational facilities as well as be required to travel to other royal residences on occasion.
