La La Anthony opened up about her difficult divorce from NBA All-star Carmelo Anthony and her life afterward.
The pair who tied the knot on July 10, 2010, now co-parent a teenage son, 14-year-old Kiyan Carmelo Anthony. The actress expressed how things got bad and detailed their co-parenting situation.
Her Rough Divorce
On Monday, October 11, "The Angel Martinez Show" uploaded a YouTube Video of an interview with La La, where she spoke on how her life has developed since her divorce.
The 39-year-old filed for divorce from Carmelo after an eleven-year marriage. La La said although she recently filed the divorce paperwork, it has been years since they split.
The mother-of-one said she still has her moments but can talk about her divorce now and even find the humor in it; otherwise, she would be a basket case.
Martinez questioned La La if she had been in a "bad" emotional state. The star answered and said it was terrible because it was public, others were involved, and allegations arose.
La La mentioned a lawyer once told her, "[Carmelo's] a basketball player—what did you expect?"
The TV personality responded, "To be honest, I didn't expect that. I didn't go into this marriage expecting that. So I was caught off guard."
The 39-year-old said she was currently sporting two rings. "F--k" was written on one and "love" on the other, making her laugh.
After going through what she publicly battled, the actress said she understands why people become jaded about love, but she always tries to stay positive.
Life After The Divorce
La La said she and Carmelo have a friendship as co-parents, and there's no drama between them. The actress mentioned that the divorce had been a transition for their son, but now he is used to it.
The author said she is currently not dating and is not familiar with meeting people on social media. As for whether she will marry again, the mother-of-one said it is unlikely, but she is optimistic about the future.
The star said the challenging situation she battled made her realize how strong and resilient she is to bounce back and start meeting people again.
Bringing The Heat With A Popular Socialite
In April 2021, The Blast reported that La La and Kim Kardashian broke the internet with a jaw-dropping photo wearing matching bikinis. Kardashian also filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West back in February.
The picture, which featured the two glistening in the sun, was shared on Instagram by the "Skims" owner during a vacation at Kris Jenner's Palm Springs mansion.
La La seems to be putting one foot in front of the other and figuring out life after her divorce.
