The pandemic has taken a toll on families worldwide and celebrity parents like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are no exception.
The doting father opened up about how keeping kids entertained during the lockdown is no easy feat but he and his wife did their best.
The couple shares two daughters, seven-year-old Esmeralda Amada and 5-year-old Amada Lee.
Parenting Amidst The Pandemic
In a recent interview with GQ, Gosling, who usually keeps his family life private, got candid about what the dynamic has been for him and Mendes since the coronavirus outbreak.
The father-of-two said it was difficult for young Esmeralda and Amada to face limitations such as being distanced from other children and being unable to meet other family members.
The 40-year-old said he and his wife did their best to entertain the children, often offering their acclaimed acting skills to treat the duo.
The Canadian actor joked that he and Mendes, "did more acting in quarantine than we have in our whole careers.”
"The Notebook" star expressed to the magazine that the pandemic personally made him more attentive to time as his kids were growing up quickly.
Their Private Life
In March 2020, The Blast reported on Mendes' private family. The mother-of-two sets healthy boundaries between her work life and family life.
She keeps photos of her husband and children away from her social media but responds to fans.
In early March 2020, a fan commented on one of the actress's Instagram posts, saying she looked amazing and expressing thanks towards Mendes for replying to followers, unlike other celebrities.
The fan also said she would love to see a feature of Gosling on the model's page.
The "F9" star thanked the user for her comment and said she loves to engage with other women online but she is very conscious of what she posts.
Mendes explained that she did not want to post anything that would make another woman feel displeased about her because her life is different from social media.
The model said it takes a lot of effort to look the way she does and she does not want to misrepresent her lifestyle.
The "Ghost Rider" star drew a line between her family life and social media saying "My Man and My Kids Are Private."
The businesswoman told fans to “feel free to call her out” on any issue then thanked them for their understanding.
Right Where She Needs To Be!
In October 2020, The Blast reported that Mendes chose to do what many fans of Gosling would love to in a heartbeat. The actress began her day with a sexy Instagram post of her running on the beach in a black dress.
Mendes joked in her captions that she went for a run that morning then clarified she had not been on a run that year and the picture was 15-years-old.
The post drew the attention of a troll who said, "You need to tell Ryan to get you out more.”
The ‘Hitch’ star clapped back with, "No thank you, I’m good. Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world." The actress's comment was met with support from fans.
Gosling and Mendes seem to have a healthy family unit that is thriving despite the pandemic.
