Shay Mitchell Shares Sweet Birthday Tribute For Daughter, Atlas Noa, On Instagram

Shay Mitchell took to Instagram today to share an adorable birthday tribute for her only child, Atlas Noa Babel.

The Pretty Little Liars star posted a nostalgic birthday tribute for the 2-year-old, whom she shares with boyfriend Matte Babel. The upload included several sweet photos of the toddler from the day she was born until her recent birthday. Check the snaps below.

The 34-year-old actress kicked off the birthday upload with a shot of Atlas as a newborn sleeping in the hospital cot wrapped in a blanket. The following picture showed Shay dressed in a sheer black top with long sleeves carrying her baby. She held Atlas using both hands, looking at her lovingly.

In the third upload in the series, Shay and Atlas were seen in the latter's room. The floor and carpet were covered in toys and books, but the doting mama seemed unbothered by the mess as she smiled while talking at Atlas.

A swipe to the right featured a lovely photo of Baby Atlas carried by Shay's grandmother. Meanwhile, the next pic showed another shot of the two -- talking to each other and sitting on a hospital bed.

In the last snapshot, Atlas was photographed gazing at a small cake that had a lit candle.

"I used to laugh at the moms who cried on their babies birthdays," Shay wrote in the caption. "What was so emotional? Of course, watching your child grow up comes with a bag of feelings but I’m sitting here on the night of your birthday, wildly close to the time you entered this world and everything before you is blurry (mainly because I’m crying, I get it now)."

She continued, "I still can’t believe you’re mine. Happy Birthday baby."

The comments section was flooded with sweet birthday messages for Atlas from Shay's 31.1 million followers.

"happy birthday sweet girl," Kim Kardashian's close pal, Stephanie Shepherd Suganami, wrote.

"This caption! Happy Birthday baby girl!!" actress Elizabeth Mathis also commented.

"Can’t believe she’s 2 already, she’s so lucky to have you as her mom," added another follower.

"I'm super early, I love you so much, and happy birthday to your beauty," noted a fourth fan.

In May, Shay opened up about the criticism she received after giving birth to Atlas, who was born in 2019.

"Right after I had Atlas, if I ever made a comment about how I didn't feel like myself, people were like, 'Well, you just had a baby.' Yeah, I know I just had a baby," she told Women's Health. "I'm very grateful for my body, and that it gave life, but I'm still allowed to express that I don't feel like myself."

The actress went through prepartum depression. She revealed that being open taught her that honesty about motherhood was the only way.

“I was strong before I had Atlas, and I wanted to feel that way after,” Shay recalled. “We celebrate our bodies before we’re pregnant; we celebrate our bodies with bumps. We should also celebrate our bodies at whatever point we feel our best again.”

Shay has regained her focus on health. She has been working out daily, in addition to having a healthy diet, as seen on her Instagram posts.
