Barbara Corcoran is taking back her words after an ill-fated joke on the recent episode of “The View.”
On Thursday’s episode of the daytime talk show, the co-hosts were joined by Corcoran, Daymond John, and Mark Cuban of “Shark Tank” to discuss Emma Grede, the CEO of Good American denim.
Grede is set to become the first Black female to be a guest shark on the reality television competition, and the panelists discussed the monumental milestone.
While discussing the jeans company and praising Grede for producing size-inclusive jeans, co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked if the clothes would fit her “COVID butt.”
While co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro assured the “Sister Act” actress that the jeans would fit her appropriately, Corcoran, however, made a fat joke at the Goldberg, saying:
And when you get finished with those jeans, and decide you don’t like them, give them to me. I’m gonna make two pairs!
Navarro Claps Back
Although the comment didn’t obviously sit well with the panel as it fell pretty flat, Goldberg didn’t address it as she only gave an awkward stare at the camera. However, Navarro wasn’t having it and took a shot at Corcoran.
Navarro came for what the businesswoman wore to the show, pointing to her dress and saying, “Whoopi, let me just tell you something. Both Sara Haines and Jill Biden wore that dress already on TV.”
Navarro’s joke indeed stuck as the panelists laughed out loud. But she didn’t stop there. Instead, she ripped apart her cards before referencing her recent drama with Donald Trump Jr.
Following the comment from Navarro and the backlash from fans of “The View,” the “Shark Tank” judge took to her Twitter to offer an apology to Goldberg. In the clip she captioned, “love ya Whoopi,” Corcoran revealed she had no bad intentions, saying:
I just came back from ‘The View’ and saw my old friend, Whoopi. As you well know, she has a phenomenal sense of humor and I’ve known Whoopi for years. I made a joke at Whoopi’s expense, which I now realize wasn’t funny.
The real estate developer concluded, apologizing to whoever she hurt unintentionally. However, Twitter netizens didn’t appreciate Corcoran’s atonement as they accused her of not taking responsibility for her hurtful words and using the “to those I offended” trope.
Not The First Body-Shaming Joke
This is not the first time a body-shaming comment has been made at the hosts of “The View.” The Blast previously reported that Navarro clapped back at Trump Jr after he took a jab at her weight.

It happened that after Navarro and Hostin were asked to leave after testing false positive for COVID on the day Vice President Kamala Harris was to appear on the show, Trump Jr took to Twitter to shame her.
The eldest child of the former president, true to his provocative nature, wrote, “given the Ana Navarro news, I think it’s time for a national conversation about the dangers of Covid-19 & obesity.”
Navarro didn’t take his words lightly and made her rebuttal on-air, calling Trump Jr “a dimwit with no skill, or talent or significant accomplishments.”
