Billie Spoke Against Texas' Anti-Abortion Laws At ACL Festival

Billie showing Megan a lot of love at the ACL festival were beautiful moments for sure. The "Bad Guy" artist also made an impact there, by using her platform to address laws that have been passing in the state of Texas. These laws have been targeting women who seek abortions, as these are being viewed as a huge attack on women's rights. This is the message that Billie wanted to send to the state, being against Texas Senate Bill 8. Billie even revealed that she almost called off her performance, when this law was initially passed, back on September 1. This law controversially bans any abortion, after six weeks of pregnancy. On Wednesday though, a federal judge suspended this law.

“When they made that sh*t a law, I almost didn’t want to do the show,” said Billie at ACL.Because I wanted to punish this f*cking place for allowing that to happen here. But then I remembered that it’s you guys that are the f*cking victims and you deserve everything in the world. And we need to tell them to shut the f*ck up!”

Fans have since commended Billie for deciding to remain on the ACL lineup, and using her platform to address these issues that are harming women's rights. Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, has been widely criticized online, for letting this bill become passed. This has sadly become an issue in various regions of the south, such as in Alabama and Mississippi. Many have suggested that events be pulled out of Texas, due to this law, but aren't optimistic about this happening, due to financial reasons.
