Anytime divorce occurs, things can get messy, dramatic, and downright ugly. Friends and family are forced to choose sides, and it seems Elsa Pataky has made her choice very clear.

Married to Liam Hemsworth's brother Chris, it seems she and her husband have been supporting Liam through his rough breakup with Miley Cyrus.

Miley and Liam have had a long and often bumpy ride in their relationship, and when they got married it seemed all would be "happily ever after." That, however, was most definitely not the case.

The couple met in June 2009 on the set of their Nicholas Sparks movie 'The Last Song.' Clearly, sparks flew (no pun intended) and the pair started quietly dating.

They made their debut as a couple at an Oscar's event in March 2010, confirming rumors they were a couple.

Just a few months after their official confirmation as a couple, they endured months of breaking up and getting back together. They broke up in August 2010, got back together by September, broke up again in November, and re-united in April 2011.

Breaking Up And Making Up

It's all enough to make your head spin, and this couple is clearly the definition of an "on again, off again" relationship.

However, things seemed to be smooth sailing for the couple throughout most of 2011 and 2012, with the pair even announcing their engagement. But, by 2013 things were going south, and in August Miley performed her infamous "twerk" on Robin Thicke at the VMA's. Liam was reportedly not amused at her antics, and by September they had called off their engagement.

The Engagement Is Back On

In 2016, the couple and their engagement was back on, with Liam talking to GQ Magazine, about his breakup, saying, “But at the time, we were going in different directions and it’s just what needed to happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time—we both needed that.”

After a couple more years of ups and downs, and breakup rumors, the couple surprised everyone by getting married in an incredibly private ceremony in December 2018.

Things were already going downhill again for the newly married couple in 2019, and by August it was officially confirmed they were splitting up. Miley's rep made a statement saying, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

Of course, the very next day, those infamous pictures of Miley on vacation in Italy with Brody Jenner's ex Kaitlynn Carter (showing the two kissing) were seen everywhere and people were shocked.

Elsa Pataky Has Something To Say

Liam Hemsworth's sister-in-law Elsa Pataky has some opinions about the breakup. The model spoke about the drama in a press conference in Madrid, saying, "My brother-in-law, well… after a relationship that you've dedicated ten years to, he's a little bit down, but he's coping well, he's a strong boy and he deserves the best."

She concluded, saying, "I think he deserves much better." Ouch! If that isn't taking a shot at Miley, I don't know what is!

It seems like Miley and Liam may be done for good this time.
