Minaj Still Faces Criticism For Marriage To Kenneth Petty
While many people enjoy seeing Minaj show off Papa Bear, there is still backlash, about her marrying her husband, Kenneth Petty. This is due to his criminal history, which includes a 1995 first-degree rape conviction. Petty ended up serving four years, in federal prison. He also had to register as a sex offender, in his home state of New York.
Petty was also arrested in March 2020, for failing to register as a sex offender, in California. Petty initially didn't plead guilty, but that changed, this month. His sentencing is scheduled for January 24, 2022. Petty faces 10 years in prison, along with a lifetime of supervised release. He and Minaj are also facing a lawsuit from his alleged rape victim, Jennifer Hough.
This is due to allegedly being threatened by the married couple, for not recanting her story, about what happened in 1995. Hough even appeared on "The Real" last week, to detail the pain that she's suffered, and that she is a victim of Petty. Minaj has remained quiet on the issue for its entirety, as she continues to support her husband, through thick and thin.
