Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio spoke up about his rough breakup with "The Challenge" co-star Morgan Willett.

Despite being a public figure, Johnny Bananas is keeping things surrounding his split with his girlfriend quiet.

The-39-year-old got candid in an exclusive interview with E! News, saying he would like to heal from their breakup without public scrutiny. 

Johnny Bananas explained that he has "always been open" about every aspect of his life but, "this is something I'm going to keep close to the cuff."

"The Real World" star added that he and Willett were both "really going through it." "I wish her all the best, and I'll just leave it at that," he concluded.

A Word From His Ex 

On Monday, September 27, E! News announced that Willett confirmed the breakup, saying she has always tried her best to be an open book.

The 27-year-old said that while she feels heartbroken, she is "thankful to know the truth." 

Willet continued, "Johnny is someone I loved & respected very much, and so I will be taking some time to heal and process it all."

The pair's social media followers started to suspect tension between them when the "Big Brother: Over the Top" star said she felt "sad and very betrayed" on her Instagram stories.

The "Quarter Life Crisis" podcast host said she was off to a family trip and did not want people to assume she had no bad days. 

The 27-year-old said it was in "times like these" she wondered if life would "be easier" if she was not in "such a public setting."

She wished to unpack her emotions without "the pressure of what people may think or conclude."

Their Happy Past

In 2019, the couple started a relationship on "The Challenge: War of the Worlds," which took off when they exited the MTV reality TV show.

Willet previously gushed to E! News that Johnny Bananas has a softer side to him off-camera.

The "Move Like Morgan" CEO said her then-boyfriend "does a good job at separating his TV character from his real-life character… he's a sweetheart and really affectionate."

The fitness coach told E! News, she was thankful to everyone for the support and would "share more" eventually. Currently, she is "focused on spending time with my family."

Johnny Goes Bananas 

In tune with his popular nickname, the TV personality got cut off from the "MTV Movie & TV Awards" after pulling a Kanye West.

In June 2019, The Blast shared photographic evidence that the 39-year-old crashed the stage after losing the Reality Royalty award to the cast of "Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta."

The "Death, Taxes, and Bananas" host got up on stage, saying, "after all these years, it's about time MTV finally gives 'The Challenge' the recognition it deserves."

His prank got him banned from the attending future "MTV Movie & TV Awards" ceremonies.

In January 2019, Johnny Bananas won a Fantasy Football League championship game after going toe-to-toe with WWE legend, The Miz.

The moment the star got his trophy, he began showing it off. Just then, a distracted photographer accidentally bumped into it, immediately crashing the unicorn.

Luckily, the TrophySmack team promised the TV personality another trophy.
