2018 Writers Guild Awards: Jordan Peele Wins Top Award, Single Sarah Silverman Rules the Red Carpet

By TheBlast Staff

Jordan Peele was the big winner inside the 2018 Writers Guild Awards, but Sarah Silverman stole the show on the red carpet.

Silverman — who recently revealed she and boyfriend Michael Sheen split up last Christmas — looked fantastic Sunday night in a red dress with a cleavage-baring neckline.

Comedienne Kathy Griffin, who appeared as a presenter, made her first red carpet appearance in nearly nine months (since her infamous Donald Trump photo controversy). According to The Hollywood Reporter, Griffin made people uncomfortable during her time on stage, faux-thanking the audience and referring to "all the powerful writers and showrunners in this room for f**king no support. Where the f**k have you been? I was supposed to thank everyone for their support — no one’s lifted a finger."

As for the awards, Peele took home the award for best original screenplay award for "Get Out," while adapted screenplay went to James Ivory for "Call Me by Your Name."
