Do you know where you are?
This is not a dream ... it's the premiere of "Westworld" season two!
Hosts, guests and makers donned their finest duds Monday for the Los Angeles premiere. Stars Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood stunned in pantsuits — almost makes it hard to picture them back in their frontier/saloon threads.
The futuristic Western thriller goes back online this Sunday for season two and critics are already abuzz with praise. The sophomore season has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and critics tease that the upcoming episodes push the boundaries that were already stretched to the breaking point during season one.
Aside from the promise of more drama and bloodshed in the battle between robot hosts and their human makers/fans/oppressors, we will get to peak the other parks operating in the same world. At the end of season one, viewers got a snippet of Shogun World, one of four confirmed parks just like Westworld that operate within the same realm but with different themes.
The show already has plans for future seasons which, for at least one star, led to shrinking the gender pay gap in Hollywood a little bit more. Evan Rachel Wood recently revealed she achieved parity with her male co-stars for season 3.
“I think I’m just now to the point where I’m getting paid the same as my male co-stars,” Wood said in a recent interview with TheWrap. Her pay bump for the third season will put her on par with the likes of Anthony Hopkins from season one.
"Westworld" premieres Sunday night on HBO.
