Harvey Weinstein should have already left the country headed for a treatment facility, but a debate over taking his cell phone to rehab and plane delays left him sitting in L.A.
Sources close to Weinstein tell us the producer became very upset when it was revealed to him he would not be allowed to take his cell phone with him while he undergoes treatment for his issues related to the sexual harassment allegations.
We're told Weinstein was very adamant he needed his cell phone to deal with business associated with The Weinstein Company, and to keep in touch with his wife.
Even though he's been fired from TWC, and his wife left him, Weinstein feels neither of those doors are completely shut, and doesn't want to be cut off from communication.
The Blast broke the story, Weinstein agreed to go to rehab as early as Tuesday night after his advisors agreed it was the best decision for him.
Along with the phone issues, Weinstein's private jet that was supposed to arrive and take him out of the country, got held up.
The Blast obtained photos of Weinstein Wednesday outside the office of his lawyer, Patty Glaser. We're told treatment is still "booked" and the plan is for Weinstein to head to rehab ASAP.
As for the phone ... that continues to be a point of contention.
3:00 PM: Things got so heated between Weinstein and his family over going to treatment, he got into a heated argument with his daughter, Remy, before heading to his lawyer's office. LAPD confirms they responded to the home at 10:37AM for a family dispute. Officers left the scene without taking a report.
