He finally apologized to Chris Rock for slapping him at the Oscars.
The general consensus on Twitter was that his message was sincere.
However, one comedy insider told Page Six that his apology was “manufactured.”
They also said it came “too little, too late” for Smith’s career.
“He didn’t do this from the goodness of his heart,” the insider told the outlet.
“People just don’t forget that Will Smith assaulted someone on national television,” they added.
They also questioned the timing of the video, considering Chris Rock just broke his silence last Saturday.
They concluded, “But the message appears to be clear to everyone in comedy — Will still needs a lot more therapy.”
