Will Smith has one of the most successful careers in Hollywood and has dominated the movie space for a very long time.

He has only ever opened up about his personal life during his interviews with his wife and in his 2021 memoir.

He spoke with Gayle King on CBS Sunday Morning about his relationship with his parents as a child.

He had seen his father beat his mom several times and felt terrible about doing nothing to stop him.

Despite his violence, his father was great at his duties and sacrificed a lot for him.

Smith blamed himself for his parent’s divorce as a child, which made him suicidal.

Smith was only able to get over the feeling and forgive both himself and his father when his father died in 2016.

He explained that his suffering and his father’s death started a new phase in his life.

This year, Smith was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Actor category for his performance in “King Richard.”
