Back in March, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.

On July 29, he posted a five-minute apology video addressing the situation.

He apologized to Rock, Rock’s family, his own family, and his fellow nominees.

Fans immediately rushed to Twitter to give their own take on his apology.

Many fans think that Will Smith did nothing wrong by defending his wife in the first place.

“Will Smith did nothing wrong in my eyes,” one fan tweeted. “The apology was cute.”

“Will Smith has been and continues to be vulnerable and transparent,” one user tweeted.

They went on to say they found Smith’s apology to be “incredibly genuine.”

Another fan called the apology “classy,” although a bit “over the top.”
