“Jeopardy!” champ Amy Schneider won the hearts of “Jeopardy!” fans around the globe.

She set a record-breaking win streak last January after winning 40 games in a row.

Amy recently sat down with Insider to talk about why she came out as trans.

She revealed that she started coming out at the end of 2016 into the beginning of 2017.

She admitted that she lost a good friend in the process of coming out.

However, she said that the positives of coming out far outweighed the negatives.

She said that everyone should “come out,” even if they’re not LGBTQIA+.

She gave the example of a person being honest about not wanting to have kids, even when other people pressure them.

“Coming out's for everyone,” Amy said. “I recommend it highly.”
