Why Eric Stonestreet's Fiancée Thought His Proposal Was 'A Joke'

Eric Stonestreet recently appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and shared more about his engagement to longtime-girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer.

The actor revealed he had help from Schweitzer’s twin sons in pulling off the big surprise.

He also had to lie to her that a production company was interested in having the couple do a social media post together.

Stonestreet explained: “So that she would do her hair and make and look as beautiful as she wanted to look for this moment.”

In the clip that he shared on the show, the twins were seen telling their mom, “Mr. Eric has a question for you.”

He then pulled out the little box with the engagement ring and asked her, “Will you marry me?”

At first, Schweitzer was confused and asked Stonestreet, “Are you being serious right now?”
