Was Janet Jackson To Blame for 2004 Halftime Wardrobe Stunt?

A new documentary will be released about the infamous 2004 Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake Super Bowl halftime show wardrobe malfunction.

“The New York Times Presents Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson” will premiere on FX and Hulu this Friday.

When the incident happened, MTV realized they were going to lose the opportunity of producing more halftime shows.

However, MTV did not approve of the outfit stunt.

Producer of the show, Salli Frattini, believes the incident was previously planned.

She believed that there was a separate conversation between wardrobe, stylists, and the artists where this was decided, and it excluded her.

The producer sought out Jackson to see why it happened, but Jackson had left by that point and didn’t own up anything that occurred.

After Jackson’s wardrobe betrayal, MTV blacklisted all her music from their channel and partner radio stations.

Timberlake thought MTV knew about what going to happen, and didn’t suffer as many consequences.
