Thursday marked the seventh day in the Kim Potter trial.

Former Police Chief Tim Gannon testified that she committed “no violation.”

He clarified that Potter committed no violation of “policy, procedure, or law” in his eyes.

He resigned two days after the shooting.

He says that he resigned “because I would not immediately fire Kim Potter.”

Potter resigned later that day.

Use-of-force expert Stephen Ijames also took the stand.

He testified that it would be a “dereliction of duty” had they not attempted to perform an arrest.

It is still unclear when Kim Potter is going to take the stand.
