David Foster has opened up about raising a child at the age of 73.

The music veteran shares a son Rennie with his fifth wife, Katherine McPhee.

He also welcomed four adult daughters from his previous relationships.

"I think I can offer him wisdom from my [73] years on the planet, and maybe that's not a bad trade-off," Foster said in an interview with People.

Speaking further on the experience, the music composer said it feels "different."

He also shared that he does regret welcoming his son with McPhee.

"I've loved every single day… I'll cancel anything just to hang with him. It's just different," he shared.

Foster told People that he and McPhee belong together despite their age gap.

McPhee also noted, "we just love our history, how we met and where we are now."
